Vehicle Detail
Extremely straight, complete, stock and original 1950 Ford F4. I think this would qualify as a barn find. Based on the limited paperwork (Bill of Sale, Vehicle Registration) I have, it looks like it was bought back by a family member of a prior long-term (original?) owner about 20 years ago in anticipation of a restoration that never happened. It has the 24 Stud Flathead V8 (6 Volt, 1 Barrel) rebuilt sometime in the past by Mustang Rebuilders, Inc. (their company tag is on block) and 4 speed manual transmission. The rear differential is one of the big, beefy Timken center split units. Engine turns over (oil is clean and full) and the running gear and accessories are all there except for the air cleaner. All six rims are original and the truck rolls and steers properly. Brakes no longer work. Two extra starters, bell housing, and an old clutch assembly come with the truck. The interior is all there other than one door panel. Some of the original fiberboard trim is still in place. The bench seat is complete minus upholstery. Dash is uncut and unbutchered. All the gauges are there and look very impressive. It even has what looks like a factory option AM tube style radio. Plus the original lug socket and lug wrench are in the storage box behind the seat. Steering column mounted blinker unit is included but not installed. Cab, doors, fenders, hood and running boards have all aged very well. This and the completeness and originality are it's real strengths. Rust is VERY limited and can be seen clearly in my pictures. Cab corners have zero rust. Body has had one ancient respray in gray over the original light blue. I have many additional pics and would be happy to send them. Please send me your email address. Transfer is via Bill of Sale only. I have a Bill of Sale from 1993 and a Registration from 1968 in my possession. And it looks like it wouldn't take much to get it running. I just have too many projects on my plate. It would make a great driver, business advertisement, restoration, or rat rod/hot rod. With no bed or box in back, you can do whatever you want. A cool, vintage, resto-mod tow vehicle perhaps? My name is Chris and I am happy to answer your questions. Please call me at 435-669-1470. The truck is located in the dry, desert community of St. George, Utah (about 100 miles north of Las Vegas). Thank you very much for your interest. On Aug-25-12 at 23:45:58 PDT, seller added the following information: Can't believe I did this but I just lowered the Reserve to $1000. 1), I'm cutting back on my collection of big boys toys and 2), I'm funneling funds from this sale into my remaining projects. Good luck and good bidding.
