Vehicle Detail

Make sure that you read this. The car is not driveable in the condition that it is currently in. I drove this car for the past 60,000 miles with no problems, except for normal repairs and maintenance. This was up until last December when I noticed that the rear u-joint in the driveshaft was going bad on me. So that's when the story begins. I took it to a local shop and they replaced the driveshaft, and both axleshafts (half-shafts). Yes, this has the IRS (Independant Rear Suspension). I went and saw this for myself and, indeed, they were really bad. At the same time, they did a complete brake job in the rear, plus installed new u-joints and center carrier bearing and support housing for the driveshaft. I hoped that this was the end. When I got the car back I realized that the small noise and vibration was still there, and they said that it was probably the rear end. So I drove it like that for a few months and decided to replace the rear end once and for all. I bought one from a bone-yard and had this shop install it to the total tune of $800, thinking that this was it. Well, they called me and said that it's now worse than what it used to be before they put the boneyard differential in. Being tired of the entire circus, I told them to leave it, so I picked up the car, drove it home, and am now selling it on eBay. THE CAR IS NOT DRIVEABLE, but once it has been repaired (whatever it is), I think it would make a fine mode of transportation. YOU MUST TAKE THIS TO A QUALIFIED MECHANIC AND/OR SHOP AND HAVE IT CHECKED OUT FOR YOURSELF. That's why it's for sale for so cheap. The engine runs beautifully, always starts right up, no matter what the temperature, and it drove great,............ up until this situation with the rear end. The scratches in the one picture on top of the right-hand side of the dash don't look as bad as the picture shows, but I wanted to show you that they are there. The car sits nicely, the AC blows cold, and the auto-climate control works, except for a vacuum motor that leaks a little. This only affects where the a/c or heated air comes out on acceleration (because of the vacuum leak) when the Recirc button is pushed in. Also, the oil has been changed at regular 4000 mile intervals. AS a final note, the tires are Michelins with about 20,000 miles on them. Below is a list of everything that's been done to it in the last 4 yrs: Front struts Alternator Battery Timing belt w/ all new idler bearings & tensioners Radiator L & R half-shafts All u-joints Serpentine belt Cooling fan Center bearing & support Driveshaft Water pump 3 parking brake cables Front & rear brakes w/ new rotors Rear shocks Driver's power seat cable Power antenna Driver's Master Power Window switch Front control arm bushing Gear shift bushings Please e-mail me with any questions or concerns. On Jul-26-12 at 12:37:06 PDT, seller added the following information: I might mention that the scratches in the one picture are confined only to the passenger-side air bag cover, and not anywhere else on the dash. Also, this may seem obvious, but there is no warranty whatsoever. This is an "as-is, where-is" sale. On Aug-02-12 at 21:07:56 PDT, seller added the following information: I also want to mention a few things that probably should be done to the car once someone has purchased it. Volvo told me that the fuel rail should be upgraded and the injector seals replaced because on the first start of the day, sometimes I'll get a fuel smell. This goes away after a few minutes. Also, the passenger seat needs a new motor cable to allow it to go forward and backwards. But these are just trinkets that all cars need after awhile. It's a good sound and solid car for a cheap price.
