Here is your chance to own The Hot Rod Mercury. A rare 1960 Mercury Monterey Convertible. Powered by the 383 cu. in. big Y block. In some racing applications, Ford was running the smaller version of this motor in the 57 Thunderbird, with a 368 cu. In. displacement. A real track burner. This 60 Merc has a standard transmission, that has been completely rebuilt. And this Mercury saw less than ten years on the road. Early in its life in 1970 the transmission failed, lost 1st gear, which in turn broke the cluster and intermediate gear. With these gears out it had no low or reverse. Parked in a barn in Pennsylvania were I ran across it looking at a Lincoln. This car has not been on the road since 1970. It has the orignal paint and orignal interior. One bad spot in the seating where someones pocket comb may have poked a hole in the seat. Super solid floor boards and trunk. Rust in the quarter inners to the trunk floor. Extra parts included.
