Vehicle Detail
LOW RESERVE AUCTION This rare 1976 Mercedes 450 sel (Land Yacht) is looking for a new home. Car is a classic, with super low miles 70K documented miles on it. Car history report is linked under, please follow link to view. Car has an OHIO clear title. Car is complete; it has all its chrome trims. Body is in a great shape for a 36 year old car, with minor to no rust. The interior of the car looks okay as well, the front seats have some cracks and rips in them, the back ones look like new. Mechanically the car runs super strong, with no known issues. The car sat for many years so a lot of parts needed to be replaced to get her going again. In the past couple of years the engine was restored, here are some of the things that were done: a complete tune up, new fuel pump, fuel filter, injectors, basically fuel system was completely restored, new air filter, updated fuse box, steering gear box, valves were resealed, valve cover gaskets replaced, brakes redone, brake system flushed, new tires, and many other parts, all original Mercedes OEM parts. Over $2000 invested already. Car starts right up never left me stranded. I drive it once or twice a week. There are absolutely no leaks. I have included 46 pictures of different areas of the car. Chassis, body, and engine vin number plates all match. This vehicle is as close to original as it gets. Now to what is left to complete this restoration, exterior has one ding in the rear left passenger door that needs attention. There are some minor surface rust behind the front bumper and other small areas of the car. The under carriage looks great, but could use a fresh coat of rust inhibitor. The paint needs to be redone down the line; it was touched up a couple of times, so there are signs of discoloration on the body. The door jams are still in original color and they shine like new. Bumpers are in a great shape, minor signs of wear if any. Power windows work great, power sunroof is not operational at this time, but it could be used manually, tool is included. I would say that about 65%, my opinion, of the restoration process has been completed. I am letting it go because I have another baby on the way, and my wife and I are planning on moving, and this car can’t go with us. I am going to miss it. Note, this was not an everyday driver, car barely did 6000 miles since 2009. I was told that AAA shipping has the best prices, call them at 18883457015 to get a quote, I will do my part to assist with shipping the vehicle if need be. Restored vehicles like this one go for over 10K, see link under.
