This Westfalia has most of the desirable upgrades from its original 1982 configuration. They are:----- 1. The original diesel engine was professionally replaced by Rocky Mountain Westy with a TURBO DIESEL from a 1984 Jetta. ----- 2. It was then professionally rebuilt to the highest standard and has less than 5,000 miles on this rebuilt engine. It runs great! You can cruise easily down the highway at 75 mph. Diesel Injection Pump professionally rebuilt, Brand New Injectors, New Alternator, new Starter battery, starter relay, this thing is ready for its next road trip!----- 3. The original transmission was replaced with an earlier VW bus engine which has the higher final drive ratio. This is great for covering miles at highway speeds because the engine doesn't have to be revved high to cruise along at the 75 mph speed limit.------ 4. The pop top tent has been replaced with the 3-screen version and is like new.----- 5. There is a Deep Cycle Optima battery all hooked up and working.----- 6. Both upper ball joints were replaced 200 miles ago.------ 7. The nice alloy wheels were added to replace the boring steel wheels and the tires are the correct Light Truck model with about half life remaining.----- 8. The upholstery is in great shape.------ 9. It has the rectangular 4 headlight setup that puts out much more light than the original 2 round lights.----- 10. It has all of the original factory screens and they are in perfect condition.---- 11. All of the camping parts work, Stove, Sink and Fridge, and it has an Optima Deep Cycle battery that runs it all. ----- 12. We've enjoyed camping in the Westy for the last 5 years but the family has outgrown it. You will enjoy it too.----- This gets 28 mpg !!----- 13. I really don't know what that means but I wouldn't be too surprised if the odometer or speedometer had broken in the past and one from some other Vanagon was installed.
