Vehicle Detail
This is a very rare, 1952 Ford Courier Wagon that was converted to a hearse / ambulance by Siebert Corporation. Siebert was a small custom hearse/ambulance conversion company that specialized in lower end conversions such as Ford and Chevy. Many small town funeral homes that operated ambulance services bought these cars because they could not afford a Cadillac or Lincoln chassis. Here is what I know about the history from the previous owner. This was originally a Colorado car that was used by the United States Armed Forces as a hearse at a Naval base. After many years of service, the Colorado Civil Defense bought the car and used it for a hearse. I believe I am the fourth owner. The car is extremely rare. It has 45,000 original miles. I believe it has a 332 cubic inch engine paired to the Ford-o-Matic transmission. The car starts, runs and drives, the reverse works, and the motor runs very smoothly with no knocking or smoking. It has suicide doors which operate. All the glass is there and the driver's door and right rear passenger door glass have cracks. The glass is easily replacable because it is flat glass. The body is pretty clean with minor rust on the rear quarters. Belly is very clean. Interior will need work as depicted from the photos. I have one set of keys. The windows roll down albeit slowly. Tires are about 50% and it has custom wheel covers from another car. It has been in the garage for the time that I have had it. This is not a show car. It needs love and attention. My wife had a shit fit when I bought it and has been mad for months. It has to go. For the right guy, this is a very rare car and could be an extremely cool resto-mod or used as a hearse. I had the intention of restoring it and using it at my small funeral home here in Rochester, New York. I have only had the car for about six months, but I can't take my wife Mensing any longer.:) You can call me at anytime between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m., e.s.t.. My phone is (585) 797-3553 My name is John and the phone is always on. Please, no tire kickers or WWII stories. It's bad enough I have to listen to my wife.If you have a FAIR offer, call me but don't waste my time. Car doesn't move until the check clears the bank. No exceptions. I can store the car for 30 days. That's it. It has a clear title.
