Vehicle Detail

1971 Ford Mustang Convertible Boss 351 " Tribute " Up for sale is our daughters Ford Mustang Convertible that she received as a graduation present along with a few other cars that we have recently sold here on ebay. Our daughter received 4 cars for graduation and this is one of the four that we are now putting up for sale. The last car we sold here on ebay was a 1994 Jaguar Convertible and the buyer was very pleased with it. For starters I'd like to say that this is not a real Boss 351 car but a look a like or clone or tribute so please be aware of that. The car was repainted by a career paint and body man, now retired, who took care of any issues with rust and any other damage that would deem repairing or fixing. The paint job is not of show car quality but still very nice, a good daily driver as what it was intended for. The engine is the original 302 V8 that has been updated with the Ram Air System !!! The interior is original except for a few cosmetic peices such as door handle inserts and floor mats. There are some small cracks in the door panels and there are none in the dashboard. I took out the new style after market racing seats, that just didn't look right in the car, and put back in the originals. The rear seats are near perfect and the front bucket seat bottoms are torn and in need of replacing, I thought it best to sell the car with as much of the original interior as possible. The car runs out excellent and is solid with no rattles or shakes or noises !!! I'm selling the car at No Reserve but reserve the option to sell it prior to the auctions end as I have it listed locally for sale. I will accept and listen to offers and if a offer is acceptable I'll end the auction and post the selling price. If I receive no acceptable offers prior to the auctions end then the car will sell to the highest bidder. Payment for the car is by Cashiers Check or Cash only for the full amount, No Deposits, No Exceptions and must be made within 7 days of auctions end or accepted offer price. I can store the car in a temperature and humidity controlled garage until September 30th, after that it will go into my pole barn next to the hay bails with a good quality car cover !!! Anyone is more than welcome to take the car for a test drive and inspect it. Any other photos you would like please just ask and I will post them. Lastly, I'm also including in the auction a option to buy, for an additional $1000.00, a original 351 short block number D2AE-CA which is the block used for the 1971 Boss 351 and 1972 HO engines, very rare and desirable engine to have as there were only 1806 1971 351 Boss cars built !!! The block is in good used rebuildable condition and has a stock bore that will need to be bored over as it is worn out.On Aug-03-12 at 16:10:33 PDT, seller added the following information: I've added some additional pictures and here is some additional information. 4 years and 8953 miles later it is still spotless under the hood, the car has never been driven in the snow and has barely seen rain. The car is originally from Arkansas and was brought to Michigan in 1988 where it sat in a barn and barely driven for 16 more years. The career paint and body man bought and restored it to its current condition after that. The engine had a valve job, low end never touched, new 4 barrel Holley carb, manual choke, Ford Racing Aluminum Valve Covers and Ram Air installed. Tires have less than 3000 miles on them and the rims were new this year as the ones that came with the car were cheap chrome ones that started to rust after 2 years. The convertible top looks to be the original one and in very good condition, no rips or tears or ugly marks, power top, not manual. Close shots of door panels with cracks, not bad but not perfect, front bucket seat bottoms are both in need of replacing, interior is original Deluxe Interior. Front driver fender has plugs were a Mustang emblem would be placed and touched up scratches were the car brushed up against a riding lawn mower grass catcher. Front bumper has a blemish 8 inches long and rear bumper has one small ding. Glass is perfect, no cracks chips or scratches, convertible top rear window is also glass and perfect. Exhaust system is getting bad and I have a new exhaust system that comes with the car, dual exhaust from exhaust manifolds to chrome tail pipes. Car does not have AC or Power Brakes but it does have the tilt steering wheel !!!On Aug-03-12 at 16:24:13 PDT, seller added the following information: The car was also Ziebarted which was the type of rustproofing used back in the 70's. When the engine compartment was redone, the rustproofing was reapplied in spots were it needed. The hood, driver and passenger doors and trunk lid are all rust free. The rear quarter panels have had metal replaced in sections and the wheel wells also have had metal replaced and some body filler.
