Vehicle Detail
Hello and welcome to my auction. Today I am auctioning off to the highest bidder my beloved 1987 Porsche 911 with 97,850 original miles that has been meticulously maintained and is in amazing condition. It has always been garage kept and only driven during the summer. Since I have owned the car, I have had the following listed repairs and upgrades performed. Mostly for peace of mind and because I like to have things done correctly. When it comes to cars, I am a purest. I like to keep the cars as original as possible unless improvements can be made such as using the ARP head studs versus the stock steel ones which I have replaced or by using the lightweight aluminum KEP clutch to replace the failure prone rubber disc setup which I have also replaced. I really enjoy driving the car, especially on small road trips on the highway. It handles very well and all of the controls feel nice and snug compared to other 911's that I have driven, and I've driven them all... The A/C has also been converted to the newer freon, last week it was 98 degrees here in the Chicago suburbs, I was on the highway and the A/C was blowing cold. Here is a list of repairs and maintenance that I had performed earlier this year. 1. Top end rebuild, all the way down to the case. 2. Every engine seal has been changed with viton seals from charlie wrightwood. including the crackcase though bolt seals and cylinder base gaskets (copper).3. New ARP head studs installed to replace the crack prone steel studs. 4. New chain rails.5. Rebuilt cylinder heads done by a very competent long time Porsche and exotics machine shop. 6. New exhaust valve guides 7. New exhaust valves. 8. New cap, rotor, wires, plugs9. Every nut and bolt on the engine and trans has been re plated yellow chromate just like it came from the factory.10. New flywheel ignition sensors!!11. New Brake rotors, oe pads, stainless hoses. 12. New AC expansion valve, reciever dryer, high pressure hose, converted to R134a and blows cold. 13. New heater control cables.14. New KEP aluminum lightweight pressure plate, 993 cup sport disc, throw out bearing, pilot bearing, RMS. 15. New Interstate battery.16. Newer Dunlop tires. 17. Refinished Fuchs (approx 4 years ago). The car comes with a very lightweight stainless muffler (installed) and the original unit. I would like to keep the car but I simply have to many, so I am selling everything except one... This is the only Porsche I have in the collection. I can pick up the winning bidder from the airport, either ORD or Midway near Chicago. You can pick the car up and drive it back to your home state if preferred or I can help you to arrange shipping. Accepted payment methods are cash or wire transfer only. Cashiers checks will take 7 days to clear. Please feel free to contact me with any questions about the car. Thanks and happy bidding. On Aug-04-12 at 19:01:26 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: Hello everyone. A lot of people have asked me: Why am I selling the car since I have done all of this work to it? My answer is: When I purchased the car, I realized that it was one of the most cleanest and straightest 911's that I had ever seen. It had a few oil leaks and needed a clutch, so since the engine was out of the car, I decided that I wanted to make it as perfect as I could for myself because the car deserved it and because at the time, I intended to keep it. About a month after all the work was completed, I found a different car (not a Porsche 911) which I had been looking for a long time. Soon after purchasing this other car, I decided to sell the 911 and two other exotics since the latest purchase was the car I had always wanted. I hope this answers everyone's question about why I am selling it. I have a lot more pictures that I wish I could have posted on ebay. Honestly though, the pictures do not do the car justice. I cannot see any reason why someone would not be impressed with this one. I would like to keep it but honestly, I have to many cars and its time for me to focus on other things..... Best of luck bidding.. FYI: A lot of people are starting to believe that the later 911's from 87-89, should within the next ten years command prices in the 30k's as they are the most drivable 911's that retain the original 911 look. On Aug-04-12 at 20:33:31 PDT, seller added the following information: MORE PICTURES: Hello everyone, I just uploaded approx 100 pictures of the car. The link is: http://s1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj571/porschadoc/#!cpZZ5QQtppZZ20 I also forgot to mention a few extra items that the car has. 1. RS rocker shaft seals (installed).2. spare key.3. spare uncut plastic wallet key (very rare).4. new clutch fork with the preferred updated fork shaft kit (not the one that requires boring the housing!). 5. I have a tremendous amount of books that go along with the car (books about 911's that I never even knew existed). Happy bidding..
