1969 Checker A-12 Aerobus Own A Piece of Movie and Automotive History This 9 door Checker wagon seats 12 and has cargo space in the back for their luggage. In 1969 the Checker Aerobus was built with the small block Chevy 350 engine making 200 Hp. This car was used primarily as an airport shuttle vehicle hence the name “Aerobus”. This particular Checker was featured in a number of movies but was last used in its most significant role in "Ray", the2004 movie about Ray Charles starring Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington and Larenz Tate. Although the car remains in original condition it is still dressed in its mustard yellow and green top as it appeared in the movie.
