For sale is my 1965 Sunbeam Tiger MkI with the 4.2litre 260 V8. I purchased this vehicle from a gentleman who owned the car for the past 31 years. He used the vehicle sparingly, and parked it in a warehouse in 1994. The vehicle was started and run occasionally, for another six years. From 2000 to current, it sat, unmoved in a very large warehouse. I purchased the car last fall and went through all the mechanicals. The fuel system, cooling system, brakes, carbs, etc. were gone over to make the car a good driver. I had the paint and chrome polished and it looks very nice. The car is very original/unmodified. The air cleaner, fan shroud, trim pieces, and steering wheel are original. The car does not appear to have ever been wrecked. The car was painted once, to a good standard, approximately 30+ years ago (lacquer paint job). However, it does show numerous scuffs, dings, and chips, due to age. The vehicle is fitted with a hard top, original wheels, cigar lighter, and a clock. Though not verified, the mileage is believed to be low (around 36K). Though the body panels show no rust, there's evidence where rust repair has been performed over the past in the wheel wells. Though not rust free, the car is quite solid, presents well, and drives and sounds great. What follows is a list of what’s been gone through in the past several months: - Cooling system flushed, water pump and t-stat replaced, radiator recored - Brake system flushed, master cylinder replaced, brake booster rebuilt - Fuel tank cleaned, fuel pump replaced, carb rebuilt - Remote oil lines fabricated and replaced - Rear hard top window replaced, front top seal replaced - Starter replaced - Seats reupholstered - New tires on original wheels (bead blasted and painted) - General service performed (plugs, filters, fluids, etc.) What’s left to be done? The tachometer and clock are inoperative. The blower motor works but the heater core has been by-passed. The steering wheel should be restored. The soft top frame is missing. I was quoted $130 from Sunbeam Specialties for a good used unit. I do have a NOS Robbin's top in the box. This car is a good driver quality car or could represent an excellent foundation for a show quality restoration.
