Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of buying a vehicle. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can tell you first hand how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind as you read this description that I am neither a mechanic nor do I operate a full service facility. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description, read my terms & conditions and review each of the photos carefully BEFORE asking questions or bidding. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 1998 Mercury Mountaineer V8 AWD. The Mountaineer is an upscale version of the reliable Ford Explorer. I would rate the exterior condition of this Mountaineer as AVERAGE for the age and mileage of this vehicle. Overall, this isn't a bad looking truck. There is an obvious rust hole over the right rear fender that was repaired (has a little differnt color) The rockers don't look bad. Please expect to find some scratches and scrapes associated with normal daily use of a vehicle this age. All of the glass and lenses appear to be intact. The chrome wheels show well. The tires are shot and will need replaced in the very near future. Please take the time to read this ENTIRE DESCRIPTION. I would rate the interior of this Mountaineer to be in a little above AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. The door panels are clean and tight. The carpets show some wear but aren't too bad. The drivers seat shows some wear, as does the center arm rest. The other seats show well. The headliner is clean and tight. The power windows, locks, seat and mirrors appear to be working properly. The factory climate control system appears to be working properly. The air conditioning blows cold. The stereo is the original premium Mach Audio which sounds perfect. The dash shows no cracks either. Mechanically, this Mountaineer runs excellent The 5.0L V8 starts easily and idles very smooth The engine does not smoke and I did not see any leaks. It keeps proper temperature, good oil pressure and makes good power. The bushings are 4 months old The brakes do a good job at stopping this truck. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. It is drivable the way it is. I've driven this truck roughly 400 miles. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
