Vehicle Detail
For auction is my 2002 Volkswagen Jetta TDI. I bought this car brand new in 2002. In October 2010 the motor blew on my way to work. I took it to Reichers Automotive, the most reputable auto repair shop in the town I live in. They dug into it and determined the #2 cylinder somehow became oil starved and then seized. They said they could rebuild it, but without tearing it down even further, they wouldn't be able to tell if there was further damage, ie, cracked block, etc. I told the guys not to rebuild the head, and just throw the parts they already removed in a box and put it in the trunk and I'll tow the car back to my garage. That's where it's sat ever since. The car has new tires and new suspension which I had just had put on a couple months before the engine blew. The inside is nice. Grey leather heated seats, sunroof, power windows/locks. Stereo and CD. Auto tranny. I think I remember counting about 8 airbags in the car. The passenger side front door glass is broken out. I did this myself when mowing. Tractor kicked up a golfball size rock and shattered the window. I pulled out what remained and vacumed the glass out. The window is easily replaceable however. So there you have it. It's a 165K mile Jetta TDI with a blown motor. Body has no dents but a few scratches, to be expected for it's age but looks pretty good. I babied the car until it blew. The bottom line is you can buy it to rebuild, or buy it to part it out. Choice is yours. And yes, the turbo charger is totally fine and included. I've had many people ask me just to buy that, but I said no thinking I would one day rebuild the motor. I decided not to, so now you take it if you want to. Local pickup only. I can't deliver the car. Obviously it doesn't run so bring a car dolly or flatbed. Thanks guys!
