Original unrestored camper. This would make a great restoration project or can be used as is. The car is currently registered and on the road. It is mechanically sound and I driven it on three 100 mile round trips this summer. The engine starts the first time and runs great. The breaks and exhaust are relatively new. My mechanic has looked it over recently and said there are no major issues. The rear camper seats are in good condition as is the canvas pop-top. The pop-top has no rips or holes but the canvas hammock in the top does have rips in it and needs repair. The original front seat upholstery has rips and needs replaced. I currently have then covered with aftermarket seat covers. The wood on the rear part of the ceiling is in good shape but the portion over the front seats is starting to sag. The sliding door wood panel needs redone and the sink is missing. The original paint has a great patina but the bad part of this camper is the extensive rust in all the usual places for these cars. It will need inner and outer rockers. Some ugly, but solid patch panels have been welded to the front floor. You can see them in the photos. This would be a great project car for someone or it can be used like I have been, as an inexpensive vehicle to start camping in right away. I reserve the right to end this auction at anytime because the car is being advertised locally. I will accept a 1967 or older Beetle in trade.
