Vehicle Detail

1966 DODGE MONACO 500 VIN #DP23G63xxxxxx D = Line = Dodge Polara, Monaco P = Class = Premium 23 = Body = 2-door Hardtop G = Engine = V8 383ci 6 = Year = 1966 3 = Assembly = Jefferson, Michigan xxxxxx = Serial = # built-off-the-line The Monaco is one of my favorite musclecars of all-time. I’m selling it on ebay because I thought I wanted another “project” to restore. Turns out I really want a driver ready to rock and roll. Besides owning a sweet 1967 GTO in the early-1990’s, my last 2 musclecars have been projects that I’ve sold on ebay either because I later concluded that I would never have the money to restore either to perfection or I needed immediate ca$h to pay bills. In 2003, I sold my 1966 Ford 7-Litre Galaxie to a guy in Massachusetts and in 2006 I sold my 1976 Buick Riviera 455 to guy in Louisiana. That’s my history. Onto the Monaco pictured here! My Monaco has some rust, but no holes in the body. As far as I know of its past, there is no bondo and it has never been in an accident. The body is rock-solid. The panels are as straight as an arrow except for the driver’s fender which is dented in several places. Presently, it doesn’t run nor start up. I had it transported from Minnesota in March 2012 like that and haven’t done anything to it since. It has the original 383 according to the previous owner. The radiator was removed when I bought it. You’ll find it in the trunk like I when got it along with a variety of parts like the 500 emblems that are placed on the front of the fenders, the air cleaner cover, and other miscellaneous stuff like that. It doesn’t have any brakes. It rolls fine, but won’t stop if you get it going. All the glass is there. It's an A/C mopar. The bumpers will need re-chroming. The taillights are cracked up.Odometer reads 20,579 miles. Is it 20,579 or 120,579??? Your guess is as good as mine, although the body is rock solid for a Minnesota mopar driven in those harsh winters??? I "suspect" it's 20,579 and that it sat for a very, very long time in not running condition! The interior is black. It’s a console 727-torqueflite automatic. It’s all intact! Everything is there. The dashboard is not cracked anywhere. The seats should be redone, however, besides a hole in the top of the passenger bucket, the seats look good for their 46-year old age. That goes for the rear seats as well. The carpet has been mostly torn out so I could look at the floorboards. See the photos and you be the judge as to whether you could still use them, although the passenger-side floor is rotted and worthless I will agree. The trunk pan has a few small holes too. I would replace it. See the photos! As for the wheels, the rear two are Cragar S/S rims and two are regular hubs. All 4 tires are junk. Now, the really bad news. There is NO title. I listed the title as a SALVAGE title because there's no option for a car with no title. I will provide you only with a notarized bill of sale. I will assist you in every way possible to get a title if you want this Monaco as a driver. Otherwise, it can simply be only a parts car. I would keep it myself and use it as such, hence buying another Monaco 500 to restore/drive, but frankly, my garage isn’t big enough for 2 of them and a stockpile of parts. It’s unfortunate that there is no title, but this Monaco is another owner’s dream parts car because everything is right here! Now onto the requirements! It’s the winner/buyer’s responsibility for provide for shipping to their location! I will store the Monaco in my garage until September 30, 2012 while you arrange transport of it to your chosen destination. I suspect you’d rather move it before winter hits here. If it’s going to take longer than that, then arrangements need to be made so both parties (you and me) are happy with the delay! You will get everything I got with the Monaco to help you with your project! This Monaco is not for sale locally so there are no worries in regards to its availability! I will accept trades for the Monaco depending on what you are offering and whether I like it! If it’s ’60-’70 muscle and starts/drives, I’ll probably like it! No guarantees though! I do NOT take payments! I accept Paypal, cashier’s check, & ca$h!!!! A deposit of $500 is due 72 hours (3 days) after the close of the auction sent via Paypal! NO exceptions, NO excuses!!! I will accept a U.S. bank cashier’s check for the remaining balance sent USPS Express Mail. That sum is due by the 7th day after the close of the auction. My name is G. Mark. Call me at 440-743-7574 with any questions! I’m in Cleveland, Ohio.On Jul-17-12 at 14:26:20 PDT, seller added the following information: I lowered the reserve by $675.......... This Monaco is a diamond-in-the-rough..... Or it can satisfy all your parts needs as a donor........... I entertained the idea of stripping it to every nut and bolt and auctioning off the pieces parts here on ebay....... But I have neither the tools or the skills or the space for that kind of extensive operation!!!........ Besides I'm a purist...... I could never gut a musclecar for the money........ BID-TO-WIN........ You'll amazed at how low the reserve actually is......... (Which I can't tell ya)................. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!! On Jul-18-12 at 07:22:57 PDT, seller added the following information: I received a phone call from a potential bidder inquiring about the glass windows.......... I post new photos from all angles....... All the glass is free of chips and cracks...... The glass is good!!!!!
