1973 BMW 2002 FOR SALE California Roundie, nice survivor! US Spec, left hand drive. Complete car, runs and drives good. Perfect daily driver with 1973 "comfort" options like inertia seat belts and "one year only" bumpers. This was the last year of the round tail lights and chrome bumpers as well as the chrome front grills. Many BMW enthusiasts consider 1973's, the last good year of the 2002's before they were changed by safety regulations. Car has a 1 year old paint job in matching Chamonix White paint. Not perfect but looks good. Everything seems to be in working condition (excl odometer), even the "Fasten Seat Belt Light" turns on. The original owner had kept this car in a private collection and thus the car does not have much rust. The spare tire well is free of rust holes and the doors are pretty good (common rust area's). This car has a fully functioning (rebuilt) heater box as well as having all the seals in good condition. The car also has its original blue interior and thus has some slight slight rips on Drivers/Rear from natural wear (39 years) (seat-see pictures) , and clean light purple, vintage "loop-style" carpet kit. The door cards are clean for being original with all chrome strips shinning bright and are very straight. No speaker holes on them. The car also has a vintage Blaupunkt radio w/ Cassette and does have two 4.5 inch speakers in the rear parcel shelf. Car does not have its matching motor and has been replaced with another M10 from 1974. This engine runs good and has been upgraded to a Weber 32/36 carb with water choke. I am unsure of the mileage on the motor and car as the odometer may not reflect actual mileage. Please note: Car will be sold with factory steel wheels and tires as pictured in second photo (side view). Because the rubber on these is bald and does not reflect the cars good handling, any test drives will be done on factory hub caps (as pictured). THE HUB CAP RIMS/TIRES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN SALE OF CAR. With a lot of this car in nice original condition, this car is a great starting point to a concourse restoration. There are also pictures of a few paint blemishes on the car. Also, ive removed one of the chrome rocker trim pieces to show the condition of that (very clean on both sides) Please be aware that this car is not perfect but is a very clean car for being 39 years old. You can purchase a car that may look better with more money invested in restoration, or start with this one which is pretty much bone stock. Finding an unmolested 02 is getting harder and this one is a great example.
