Vehicle Detail

Here is another 1963 Thunderbird Monaco to add to the list being offered for sale. This is car number 1556. I bought this car about three years ago and this is the first year I have been driving it. I have been too busy camping, fishing etc and the summer driving time doesn't last very long. It was repainted when I got it and I replaced the carpets and the trunk liner. It came with the skirts that were repainted at the same time as the car but the shippers scratched them up during the inspection. I have never put them on. I put the wire wheels on and wanted them to show. The mounting pegs were removed during the painting the previous owner said. The original leather seats are not torn but the drivers seat and the LR inside panel have some sun caused discoloring and the leather is getting hard. The dash pad is warping at the usual places and the speaker grille has rust on it. Seems like an odd place for rust but that is an easy fix as they come off easily. When I had the carpets and the trunk liner out there was no sign of rust. The floors and trunk are good and solid. The vinyl top has been changed and is the correct rose color. That was changed at the same time of the repaint. The tires have good tread, the brakes work well, the transmission shifts good and solid, the engine starts easily and has used no oil and the coolant level has stayed at the same place. The Thunderbird emblems on the hood and deck lid have been replaced with new. The odometer shows 66080 miles. The speedometer stopped working yesterday. I don't know if that is plus 100K or not. The repaint is clean and shiny and the car shows well. The car is located in Anchorage Alaska and I will help with setting up the shipping. I got a price of $925.00 to the Port of Tacome, just south of Seattle. Another route to look into is Craigslist. Lots of truck come here full but leave empty so they are always looking for something to take back out to help cover the cost of the fuel. Thanks. If you have concerns about my feedback I will explain that. I also have another Ebay account, kbrown4308. Go and check it out. I have hundreds of transactions and positives. RE the negative I got for the old GMC truck. That was not my truck and the truck was in Montana. In the auction that was made clear with instructions to call the owner where the truck was. It turned out it did run fine. The battery would not charge. He put in a new battery and drove it away. The crack in the windshield was clearly in the picture. The purchaser missed it. He asked about rust. I told him I had never seen it and to call the owner. He never called, he did the buy it now. RE the Mustang. He said the engine smoked. It had new headers on it with no miles on them. The smoke was the coating burning off of them. The conv top had in fact never been replaced. It was the factory original unit. As far as the AC being inop, I dont know if it worked or not. I never used it. Both of my negs were in fact false but as anyone who has received one there is no recourse. None. I of course had no recourse. I didnt even know either buyer had a problem. Neither person has ever contacted me. After I was given the negs I went to their feedbacks and saw they both had handed out negs regularly. The guy who bought my Mustang has given all negatives, not one feedback was given by him other than a neg. Give me a call if you have concerns about my honesty. Thanks. On Jun-30-12 at 10:09:51 PDT, seller added the following information: If you are interested in parts from this car save my phone number. If the reserve is not met this time around I will part it out and sell the body shell for scrap. Parts that you want will be listed on ebay with a buy it now price. I will not sell any of the major body parts, eg: fenders, doors, hood, bumpers, seats etc as it is just too much trouble to box or crate them up. Those parts will go to the scrap dealer. I of course really don't want to do that as it is a very nice car but I do need to take some action to turn it into money. If you need something from the car email me and I will tell you if it something I will ebay to you or if it is to stay with the car as scrap. On Jun-30-12 at 10:14:38 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had a couple of questions about the fit of the deck lid. It was not closed in the pictures. It is just sitting down on the latch. It closes fine and the body lines are all good. If you want a picture of it when it is closed and latched I will send it to you.On Jun-30-12 at 18:34:23 PDT, seller added the following information: To answer the questions about the paint color on the car. It is the correct Corinthian white and the new vinyl top is the correct 1963 only cobra grained rose color that only the Monacos came with. The paint job is very nice. Yes the bumpers are good as are the Q's. Yes the power windows operate very well. Fast, smooth and quiet as they should. The AC needs charged and I will try to do that. It is all there and hooked up and I can't see any reason it shouldn't work. The brakes work smooth, quiet and solid.
