One very, very rare all original 1967 GMC short bed, big window. The big windows were a $49 option in 1967 as the standard was the small window. Sporting one repaint this beauty has all the original compliments for a factory GMC. Vin# CS157ODPC19608A (C=2wd, S=6cyl, 1=1/2 ton, 57=115” bed, OD=Fleetside, P=Pontiac, C=1967, 19608=18,608th built, A=who knows, as I’ve yet to find anyone who knows for sure). Big windows were bought back east as the sun was important for heat. On the west coast, no-one wanted the added heat so small windows were bought. Problem is, the small windows survived due to no snow and the big windows suffered terribly due to the snowy winter months. This one though is a survivor. Interior: All original including the fabric/vinyl seat. There are no tears on the seat and is normally covered to protect the fabric. All factory gauges work properly as does the heater. Original radio works and is functional, but the antenna is not connected (a big wind blew the cover off one day and broke it; I have a replacement, but have yet to install it—didn’t want to use the radio and risk damaging it). Wheels and Drive train: New Bridgestone Turanza EL400 P215/70R15 on stock rims with rare full size GMC hubcaps. Great driver as truck starts the first time/every time and runs excellent. It drives down the road / interstate perfectly fine without any issues. The GMC retains its original rear-end with highway gears so 75mph cruising is easy without the howling and low speed of an older, 4:11 gear ratio. Never an issue with stopping as power brakes has been added for safety. The spare under the back bed is one of the original bias ply tires; kept for posterity. Exterior: The truck has had one repaint and still shows very clean and non-faded with only a few chips due to normal wear. Panel gap are normal for the truck and as near as I can tell, the paint job was done properly with at least the bed removed prior to painting, completed in the original yellow color. Under the hood: Original non-rebuilt 235ci 6-cyl with “three on the tree” with original 52,245 miles as of this writing. Exhaust has no leaks and is finished off with a chrome tip. It has a nice quiet sound you can barely hear running. Minor leaks as the truck is a few years old, but nothing near drastic. In fact, the truck still has the original radiator cap. Hoses, belts, fuel lines, plugs, etc. have been changed and are new so that it drives well without problems. **Here’s the deal: I’ve owned the truck for 2 years after looking for over 36 to try and find it. But I only drive it in the winter due to no A/C and the AZ heat. I’m selling all my antique and collectable car and trucks. Full price gets you up to $ 500 towards shipping costs if that helps.
