                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Vehicle                  Description:                                                                                                  Ultra rare collector car!    1983 Mercedes 300TD-t Touring Estate Wagon!   If you have been looking for the right Mercedes 300TD-t  this is the one you've been waiting for!   You will not find one nicer currently on the market.   Please take the time to read all about this car, and feel free to contact me with any questions or reasonable offers.   For those of you lucky enough to live in California, I can ship this vehicle to your driverway for $1400 or less... save thousands over California prices!   Thank you for viewing our auction!  Here is a very rare Signal Red 300TD turbo-diesel touring estate wagon with the highly desired roof cross-bars, a nearly $500 value.   This wagon was originally purchased by the head of a production company in New York City, NY.   The production company opened a Los Angeles office in 1988, and this wagon spent time in both New York City and Santa Monica, CA in the 80's and 90's... what a life!   You can read about the first owner here.  Eventually, the wagon was sold to new owners and found its home in the beautiful New England mountains where I was lucky enough to purchase it.     Complete no excuses car here which also includes all books and manuals, service book, original build plaque, factory first aid kit, factory tool kit, and much more.     The exterior of this car is in beautiful condition.    You would not believe the attention this car gets at car shows, let alone a quick trip to the gas station.  The rare Signal Red paint is in excellent shape, very deep and glossy.   This is one of the more limited production colors and was only available 82-85.  There is not so much as a door ding, dent, or scrape  on this vehicle; it looks incredible and gets constant compliments.   All glass is original, every molding and trim piece is present.  The chrome is in excellent shape, and the original wheels are in excellent shape showing how well this car was taken care of.    What you can't see is just as important as what you can, especially on a vintage Mercedes.  Please pay attention to how clean and rust-free the rockers and jacking points are on this vehicle! The interior on this car is in very nice shape.  It is Palinomo in color and looks excellent with the red exterior.  The dashboard is crack free, and all wood trim is in excellent shape and free from cracks.   The door panels are in great shape  as is the headliner.   This car was a non-smoking car and is free from any odors.   The seats are  comfortable and free from tears  with average wear.. they ARE the desired 60/40 split folding seats!  The manual moonroof was lubricated and works great.  All of the power windows also work great, as does the rear wiper.   I just put in a refurbished factory Hirschmann antenna, a nearly $180 value, as well as a new drivers seat cusion since the interior pictures were taken. This car was well maintained and includes service records for a good part of its life.   It always starts right up and idles very smooth.  It has a nice diesel sound, and picks up to speed very well... quicker than any of our other Mercedes diesels.  The engine runs strong, and transmission shifts smooth.   The rear self leveling suspension sits just as it should, no sagging.   Newer tires with under 3,000 miles on them.  This car runs and drives great including at highway speeds. It should also be noted this vehicle passed a rigorous state inspection 3,000 miles ago which inspected all lights, frame, windshield, fuel tank and components, brakes, wipers, exhaust, mirrors, tires, suspension, seat belts, parking brake, and more... copy of inspection report below.  Should you chose to pick up this vehicle yourself, I'm sure you will have quite an incredible drive home with your new vintage Mercedes.  I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car anywhere, in fact I personally drove it 600 miles back to Cleveland.
