Adult driven, I always chuckle when I read that statement because I still consider myself a Kid at the ripe old age of 51. Regardless, this is an exceptional example of only one of 21 Apex Blue Pearl Club Racers without factory A/C and Audio manufactured in 2008. In all, only 699 Club Racers were manufactured between 2008 and 2009, and only 59 total without factory A/C and Audio. My club racer is the 625th CR manufactured. This CR drives flawlessly through all six speeds with relentless acceleration and near 50/50 weight distribution. In its class, it is unparalleled for braking, naturally aspirated power and cornering. The CR is truly a roadster in the classical sense with exceptional contemporary mechanicals. The Club Racer (CR) is lighter, stiffer and faster than the stock S2000. The S2000 CR has a much more aggressive look thanks to the aerodynamic body kit that features a front spoiler that wraps around the corners of the vehicle, rocker-panel extensions, a large rear wing and faired-in headrests. The car's handling has been made sharper with the use of quicker-ratio steering, firmer springs and shocks, sticky Bridgestone Potenza RE070 tires and larger-width rear wheels. Extra body stiffness comes from additional bracing attached to the storage area for the folding cloth top, which has been removed. In its place, you get the OEM removable aluminum hardtop. This change also results in weight savings of about 90 pounds. The sport seats are clad in cloth with unique yellow stitching, and the interior is accented with carbon-fiber-style trim panels and a special aluminum shifter. This Club Racer is an instant affordable classic, its low mileage, OEM Warranty which can be extended, rarity and condition will only ensure that it retains its value. S2000 CR Exclusive Features: • Firmer, track-oriented suspension settings for springs, dampers and stabilizer bars. • Front coil springs 37% stiffer and rears 17% over 2008 standard model. • Front damping force increased 50% and rears 32% over 2008 standard model. • Front stabilizer bar (mm): 28.6 x t4.5 (+1.4 x -0.8). • Rear stabilizer bar (mm): 26.5 x t4.5 (+1.1 x 0.0). • Structural enhancements include rear body brace and steering gearbox brace • Quicker steering ratio of 13.8:1 (compared to 14.9:1) • More aggressive tires using ultra-high performance Bridgestone Potenza RE070 tires in place of RE050 tires; 215/45R17 front and 255/40R17 rear (a larger rear tire size by 10mm) • Aerodynamic body kit for reduced coefficient of lift (Cl) and improved balance and reduce lift through large and specially-tuned front and rear spoilers. Lift is reduced by 70-80% depending on the roof configuration. • Removable aluminum hardtop • Sport muffler for a tuned exhaust note • High-grip fabric seating surfaces with synthetic suede trim; black fabric seating surfaces with yellow stitching. Synthetic suede bolsters enhance lateral grip. • Unique spherical aluminum shift knob rests 12.6 mm lower for a 6 percent reduction in shift stroke compared to the regular S2000 cylindrical shift knob (aluminum/leather wrapped). Additionally, shift load effort increases by 10 percent for even more direct feedback when engaging a gear. • The S2000 CR instrument panel meters include a "peak-power indicator." When the engine is operating at peak power, a round, green light illuminates to the right of the digital speedometer. • Omitted items for weight reduction: convertible soft top, audio system (optional factory install), air conditioning (optional factory install), spare tire and jack, and sound insulation. Relative to the base 2008 S2000, cumulative weight savings total 51 pounds (hardtop installed) and 99 pounds (hardtop removed). • New wheel design in Kaiser Silver • rear body brace has been added to the area previously occupied by the soft top, resulting in additional rigidity. • Carbon fiber-style trim interior panels. Paint, interior, systems and mechanicals are as practically new. Tires are as new with less than 5% even wear. My Club Racer is unmodified. The factory witness marks are still on all the fasteners. The car has never been waxed, using PoorBoy Products exclusively; the clear coat has only been polished. The tires and the interior leather and plastics have never been Armoralled or other such products. Honda finishes are exceptional and the pearlescence in this blue, albeit subtle, are breathtaking in the sunlight. Unfortunately, the pictures do not do it justice. No Accidents. Warranty: Balance of the Honda bumper to bumper warranty till December 27, 2012. Maintenance: …other than fluid changes no maintenance has been done. Mobil 1 and Honda oil filters have been used since the first oil change. The oil is changed before it goes into heated winter storage and in the spring when I make her road worthy. Included in this sale are several Honda oil filters and crush washers. The maintenance minder has never been below 100% Oil Life remaining and she does have current Pennsylvania Inspection, 5/2013. I just filled the car for only the 14th time with premium gasoline. Modifications: Installed is a Pioneer DEH-P6100BT CD Receiver with Bluetooth and external mike for your cellphone. While almost any convertible would make such a drive enjoyable; those looking for an extra adrenaline rush of a high revving exhaust note and slamming their own gears require a special car. One such car is the Honda S2000. While the standard S2000 is one of the greatest sports roadsters in its own right; the folks at Honda sprinkled additional performance magic dust on the limited edition “Club Racer” CR model. The Club Racer's overall curb weight is 51 lbs less than that of a standard S2000. The car's 94.5 inch wheelbase is shorter than any of its competitors and allows the driver's bottom to be right next to the drive wheels, which further enhances the cornering feel. The Club Racer model is distinguished from its standard brethren by: stiffened suspension, quicker steering, unique wheels with wider stickier tires, a removable hardtop that takes place of the standard folding soft top, and tuned front and rear aero bodywork among other tweaks. Although, Honda claims a drastic reduction in high speed lift the enlarged front splitter/spoiler and the huge rear wing appear somewhat adolescent. No matter, the CR is a laser sharp focused version of one of the best critically acclaimed and celebrated roadsters of all time. Did I mention that the chief engineer for the S2000, Shigeru Uehara, is the same guy who brought us the NSX? Honda had originally planned to produce between 1,500 and 2,000 CRs, but when all was said and done the records show that only 699 of them reached the US market. Out of these, just 59 cars were delivered that had the A/C and audio system delete option. The CRs came in four exterior colors: white, yellow, blue, and black. There were just 90 cars in the “Grand Prix white” color, 140 in “Rio Yellow pearl”, 200 in “Apex Blue pearl”, and 269 in “Berlina Black”. Refer to this page for further production number breakdown.
