Very few still in the market place, classic 1971 Mercury Cougar convertible. This car is a 3 owner car. Originally purchased in New York, the car was then sold eighteen months later to its second owner and we purchased it as the third owners in 1999. It had been garaged in North Carolina for the previous17 years. The original documentation, owners manual and service records are in the glove box! Drive train is original with many upgrades. Most original parts not currently on the car are available. 351 Cleveland with matching numbers, original carburetor and A/C compressor available. Then we made it better: modified to 4 bbl. heads, aftermarket intake, carb and MSD ignition and distributor. Original FMX transmission rebuilt with shift kit, original 9 in. rear end modified from 27 spline to 31 spline with 4.11 gears and Auburn differential. 15 inch Cragar SS mag wheels, dual exhaust. Decent body work and respray with new top and interior carpet. Original seats and dash. Functioning power windows and top. We drive this car to Sunday breakfast with no problems every weekend. With a more fuel efficient rear gear ratio, this is a daily driver. High power stereo with sub woofer and amp can be included for additional charge. This car is 90 % restored, just needs someone with an eye for detail to track down a few trim pieces on the internet to make it "Barrett Jackson" ready.
