1900 FORD HORSELESS CARRIAGE FREASHLY BUILT FULL SIZE REPLICA SHOW PIECE!! CALL ALEX TO MAKE A SERIOUS EBAY OFFER (954)937-8271 SHIPPING AVAILABLE!! Year: 1900 Make: FORD Model: HORSELESS CARRIAGE Trim: Miles: 12 VIN: Stock #: Engine: Not Applicable Color: MPG: Options: Description: up for sale custom built by noted craftsman Dennis W. McClain. This is a full size replica of Henry Ford’s 1897 Quadricycle – the original “horseless carriage”. Yes the date is correct, 1897. But this is a modern replica built several years ago using a modern engine and components for comfort and safety. It is hand-crafted from steel and solid oak. Again, this was built by hand by a master craftsman. The detail to the original is incredible. It looks like it’s from two centuries past but has a modern 350cc gas powered electric start motor, modern transmission, electric headlights (actual traditional style brass headlamps), excellent carriage spring shocks, modern tires, etc. This car turns heads everywhere it goes. Please look closely at the photos and note the incredible attention to detail. And make no mistake, although this car has won a lot of auto show trophies and seen its fair share of parades, it is not just a showpiece – it is an absolute blast to drive. Words cannot fully describe this vehicle. Not only was it built to exacting standards, it was actually registered as a street-legal automobile in Illinois where it was constructed. from the builder to a Ford Dealership owner who used it as a showroom piece at his dealership. it goes up to 25 mph +/-, seats two adults comfortably, has storage in the back, but lacks seat belts. it is always welcome at classic car shows, regularly requested to appear in parades, and always turning heads wherever it goes. It runs like a top and drives very smooth. All the lights (headlamps and tail lights) work well as does the traditional brass horn and tiller steering system (very cool!). The only thing I would plan on doing is replacing the brake pad/band ($30 +/-). I keep it at low speed in my neighborhood and it is fine but I believe this is the original pad so would recommend changing it out. Here are some specifics: Bench seat comfortably seats 2 average adults plus 350cc (12-1/2 hp) Briggs and Stratton I/C Gas Powered Motor with electric start (uses a key). I/C is the “Quiet Line” of B&S heavy duty motors. Also has a handy instant shutdown switch for convenience. Brass headlamps and small modern motorcycle style tail lights plus one traditional working carriage lamp in the rear for authenticity Takes 12V battery (regular car battery) 3 speed 'tractor' style transmission with neutral and reverse, first, second, third Maximum speed of about 25 mph estimated Original Ford “tiller” style steering system (also found on 1903 Oldsmobile) Solid steel, hand painted fenders; black with red pin stripe Steel step-ups on driver and passenger sides Solid steel undercarriage 100% rust free and like new Solid 1” thick oak body and storage bed in back (Gorgeous!) call Alex to buy it now (954)937-8271 shipping available!!!
