Vehicle Detail
For sale: one-owner, one-driver VW Jetta. Original window sticker and owners manuals, all maintainence records. As seen in the photos, there is a small dent in the right front fender, a scratch in the right rear door, and various scratches in the back bumper cover. The interior is spotless save for some dust, and fingernail scratches in the cup-holder cover. Never been smoked in, or eaten in. Just black French roast coffee or occasionally a bit of Merlot. While parked, of course. The car comes with the original, virtually unused, floor mats as well as a set of Monster Mats that I purchased with the car. The spare tire is unused, and the wheel-lock bolts are stored with the original tools in the trunk. The wheel-lock bolts have been replaced by ordinary hex-head lug bolts. Both electronic keys and the valet key come with the car. The BAD: (1) Fan control module connector needs to be replaced (14 pins). A ticklish job that I do not want to start, nor pay for - figure about $500 at the dealer. As a result, the A/C will not work, though the rest of the A/C system is fine. This fault also results in both radiator/condensor fans running the entire time that the car is on. Over last winter, I just pulled their fuse. (2) The front passenger door lock sticks. It will not operate by the switch, only manually, for either locking or un-locking. Sometimes it works, but mostly it doesn't. (3) Stone chips beginning to rust, a couple over each headlamp. This should be only rust in the car - I've removed fender liners recently and it is clean behind those, and there is none visible on the rocker panels or in the door areas, which you can see have been regularly greased at the hinges. (4) One accident, approx. $1,600 damage, involving all of the front bumper plastic parts, etc. Recent work includes a new alternator in April 2012, timing belt/water pump/etc.radiator and silicone coolant hoses in August of 2011 (at 69,000 miles). Rotors and HPS pads in May of 2011 (at 65,000 miles). Tires are all-season Goodyear Assurance from Sept 2009 (at 55,000 miles). Note that the recommended maintenance including the brake fluid flush/bleed has been part of the routine, using Valvoline Syn fluid, and all calipers have Speedbleeders installed. Shipping is up to you, though I might consider driving a few hours to meet for a transfer. I'll be glad to answer any questions.
