I am the 3rd owner 1987 Porsche 928 S 4. I have owned the car for the last 5 years; it has been garaged kept with a custom cover when not driven by all owners. Timing belt and water pump and all associated parts brakes and rotors done at 80,000 miles. Timing belt checked for tension at 87,000 miles new alternator and power steering pump at 87,000 miles. Rear Muffler bypass to give the car a wonderful low rumble and X pipe for more horse power. Auto Authority performance chip upgraded shifter to have the 5 speed look and new shifter cable. All Maintenance records since 1994 Porsche recommended 60,000 maintenance done new wheels and tires on 07 maybe 3000 miles on tires. No rips or wear spots in seats Infinity Bass link Sub Blaupunkt Radio. AC blows cold but I never use it, Cruise does not hold I had it looked at and they said it needed a new cruise control unit. I remember the previous owner saying a speedometer cable broke so it pops up as a red flag on the car fax but it was at such a young age of the car and he drove it to the dealer to get fixed so they had to report it so the mileage should be with in a few miles of right on it was a long time ago and all the mileage adds up correct since then. At 81,500 I had the car into the shop for a leaking seal at the torque converter,while they had the whole drive train off I had them replace anything that might need replacing while they had it apart, bill was $3,861.40. My thinking was I never wanted to do this again and while they had it apart do what was needed so it did not need to come apart for another 80K mile's so they did. Same thinking when I had the water pump done, I bought all the wear parts and everything that was needed so this would be good for another 80K miles as well. I did not do anything with the cruise control unit all because I just had not driven it far to even need it. Like I said I have all the records from 94 which was probably when it first started to need any thing done to it. I just had the power steering pump done, last fall I had the alternator replaced when I had the timing belt checked for tension and it was spot on also dropped in a new battery a few weeks ago.
