1982 was the first year Mercedes introduced the turbo-charger for the 123 series coupes . These cars already had a reputation for being very economical ad reliable . Now they also had plenty of power for sportier driving . The 5 cylinder diesel engine is considered to be one of the most durable Mercedes ever made . There are several Mercedes with this engine on Ebay right now showing more than 400k miles and still driving well . If you keep taking care of this car , it is very realistic to still expect it on the road with 500k or 600k miles . This little coupe was finished in black with tan interior . It is a very elegant color combination and i do get compliments on it all the time . The body and the paint are in very nice shape . There are no dings, dents or scratches and the paint still shines like new . The interior is very clean as well . Yes it is a full leather interior and not the Mercedes vinyl . There are no rips or tears in the seats and they are still firm . The carpets are clean and even the wood is still in outstanding condition . Please check out the many pictures i uploaded . They can describe the car much better than i can . The original radio has been changed to a newer unit with a CD player a couple of years ago . Less than 500 miles ago the transmission was completely overhauled for $2400,- and 4000 miles ago the AC system was totally gone through ( new compressor , condenser AC-temp switch, receiver dryer and conversion to the new style freon ) for over $1200,- . Just this week we had the fluids and filters changed and the valves adjusted . A new set of tires was installed in January and they have less than 400 miles on them . As you can see , this Mercedes coupe has been maintained very well and it should last the new owner for many years .This 300CD also was converted at some point to run on Biodiesel (" Lovecraft" single tank conversion) You can drive it on regular diesel or bio diesel or any combination . It has mostly only been driven on regular diesel , but you do have the option . I do have the service records and the book for the car . This would be a wonderful car for somebody to drive it safely every day . Since Mercedes only sold 8007 of the 123 series diesel coupes , it might also be a good investment for a collector . You just do not see to many of these cars in this condition anymore and they should only go back up in value from here . I would prefer to sell this car to somebody local , who could actually come out and see it/ test drive it . But i would also be willing to help with shipping arrangements or a airport pick up for somebody from out of town . All shipping charges would have to be paid by the buyer . Please have your funding in order and do all your " do diligence" BEFORE placing a bid . Many banks will not finance an older car . This is a wonderful 300year old classic car and it will be sold without a warranty " as is " and " where is " .
