This vehicle was converted when new to electric by Solectria. Solectria was in the business of converting cars and light trucks for about 10 years. This car is based on a Geo Metro Hatchback. It is powered by 2 AC motors/drives. There is no transmission, it is driven through a single speed gearbox. The controls allow for full power regenerative braking which extends the range of the vehicle. Instead of a gas gauge the car has an Amp-Hour meter which counts up battery current used since the last full charge. This is used in place of the fuel gauge to track how much range is left in the batteries. I never use more than 30 AH from the 79 AH battery pack. The 144 Volt battery pack is made up of 12-79 amp-hour AGM Lead-Acid batteries. The batteries have 700 miles on them. The car has an on-board 1kw charger. This is not a neighborhood electric vehicle. It is capable of traveling at highway speeds. Condition: The tires are in nearly new condition. Because the regenerative braking is so strong the front brake rotors are rusty ( they rarely get used) so they do make some noise when used. Overall the vehicle is in good shape, the paint is a little faded as it was stored outside at some point. There are also some small nicks and scratches. The previous owner installed a roof rack as well as you can see in the photos. More photos are available upon request.
