2006 MUSTANG SHELBY GT-H This auction is for a 2006 Mustang Shelby GT-H. The GT-H Mustangs were Mustangs that were bought by HERTZ rental car and were sent to Carroll Shelby Motors to be modified. Shelby modified these cars specifically for Hertz with performance modifications, interior modifications including Hertz and Shelby tags, exterior modifications including special front end , hood, and gold stripes, etc . This was an $8,000 package added on to the price of the GT Premium. What really makes these cars stand out to collectors and all Mustang enthusiast is the tribute these cars where to the 1966 Hertz addition Mustangs. These cars became very popular to collectors and are going for record amounts at car auctions all over the world. There is no doubt these 2006 Hertz edition Shelbys will follow suit! This is car #20 of about 500 units. These cars were only sold to Hertz and were rented at special high end Hertz rental centers. They were not sold to the public until the Hertz corporation began sending them to auctions years later. This car has 14,068 miles. It was sold to Hertz on March 4th, 2006 and was modified by Carroll Shelby Motors on March 21, 2006. All Shelby and Hertz documentation is included with the car. All invoices, PO's, sales slips, etc are laminated and in great condition. We also have a letter from Shelby authenticating the car as a true Shelby GT-H. The car also comes with the extra Dash Plaque with the CSM # 06H0020 that was released to the first public buyer of the car. If you look up the NADA value on these cars( you must go to NADA classics/exotics to look up special editions) they have a retail price value of $34,600 for low end and $52,100 for high end in today's market. They will only go up from there. One thing to remember about this car, it was a rental car and it has been driven. The interior is spotless. The engine bay is spotless. Everything that Shelby put on this car is intact and how it should be. Shelby put a safety wire on the engine blocks to insure that no one removed the engines. That is still there! There are paint markings on bolts that still line up and show that this car was not tampered with. The car runs great and the automatic transmission shifts flawlessly. These cars have a great exhaust rumble thanks to the x-pipe that was added by Shelby and also have 25 more hp than the normal Mustang GT due to the Ford Racing cold air intake and tune that was installed by Shelby motors. There are a few paint issues on the hood. I did my best to take pictures of these. There are a few cracks in the paint on the front of the hood and one "x" towards the rear of the hood. There are a very door dings here and there over the body. Overall I rate the paint and body an 8 out of 10. The few minor spots can either be left alone or fixed very easily. The other issue with this car is that the last person to rent this car decided not to return it. Hertz recovered the car but listed it as stolen for insurance purposes. The car was sold at a Colorado Auction . Colorado has a policy that makes them give the car a new Vin # once this has happened. The car now has a clear blue Texas Title with the newly issued vin #. We have all documentation explaining what happened and also the papers which link the new Colorado Vin # to the original Ford VIN #. The car still has everything that Shelby and Hertz put on the car including Hertz tags, Carroll Shelby ID plaques under the hood and on dash, Hertz Sirius radio, floor mats, engine safety wire, Ford Racing Performance parts, etc. This car has the following features that were installed by Ford, Shelby, and Hertz.
