1979 VW “EPILOG” TRIPLE BLACK CONVERTIBLE! ORIGINAL CAR! UNRESTORED! ONE OWNER! CALIFORNIA CAR! You are looking at the LAST Beetle Convertible Special Edition – also referred to as the “Epilog” Triple Black (L41). One “Epilog” was shipped to each Dealership in the US for a total of about 600 made at the end of the 1979 production run. This car has not been restored and has been well kept by the original owner. It’s a solid (not rusted) garage kept, running / driving car. It was purchased new in San Diego (original warranty and owner’s manual included). Have complete pictures of floor pan and trunk if needed. The deluxe model which this car is, has faux wood panel inserts in the dash board, an analog clock (works), ribbon weave vinyl seat covers, and the lemmertz sport rims (black plastic center cap and lug nut covers). The car is the original Black exterior paint that is very presentable and a Black interior that is also very presentable except the front seats need new covers for $150. The tan top (as you can tell from the pictures) gives it a sophisticated look and can be replaced with black if you want it period correct. Mechanically the fuel injected engine runs well with no issues. Transmission also works well. I have no issues driving this car anywhere. The car gets a lot of attention anywhere it goes. You could easily restore this car to perfection or simply enjoy it on weekends and let the value increase over time. It’s a great example of an original classic that everyone loves to see on the road. The car currently shows 32,252 miles on the dash and the original miles are 100,000 more.
