The 355 series was a high water mark for Ferrari's V8 cars - their first 5 valve per cylinder V8. It produces a staggering 380 horsepower - enough to push the car from 0-60 MPH in 4.6 seconds plus an under 13 second quarter mile time. It was also the 1st Ferrari to feature a 6 speed manual transmission, power steering, & a semi-automatic convertible top. The cars reportedly were aero-tuned with a total of 1800 hours in the wind tunnel.
This example is finished in a gorgeous Verde Mugello, a medium Green metallic, with a beautifully preserved Tan leather interior, Tan carpets, Black soft top, & Tan leather top boot.The paint is close to flawless & appears to be original with the exception of the front bumper, with only a few rock chips on the nose typical of a driven car. The interior is likewise in stellar shape, with only minimal wear to the upper outside bolster on the driver's seat. The top is about 2 years old, with a crystal clear rear window, & the boot is hardly used. We just finished a full, comprehensive, engine-out major belt service - timing belts, hoses, cam seals, cam timing, accessory belts, water pump, A/C service, F&R hood struts, all fluids, etc. At the same time, the clutch was renewed, the steering rack, hood shocks, HVAC control ECU, 4 wheel alignment, & several minor issues were attended to. We refinished the "sticky bits" that typically plague Ferraris of this era. This is a rare 355 that can be driven with complete confidence as all of the known problems with the series have been addressed. The compression is within 7% across all cylinders, & a leakdown test revealed less than 6% leakdown - no valve guide issues here. There are no "slow down" or "check engine" lights on & it passes California smog tests brilliantly. It is equipped with a modern CD/MP3/Sirius stereo, Scuderia shields, & aluminum skid plates to protect the front spoiler.
It drives wonderfully - fabulous power, super-slick shift action, accurate steering, supple suspension, great ride & handling. The lights, windows, locks, seats, etc. all work as they should. The wind tunnel work was effective as there is minimal buffeting with the top down even at high speeds. This a a great Ferrari in unusual & striking colors.
