2002 Ford Explorer XLT Rear Air, 3rd row seating 176,670 Miles and climbing as I use it on the weekends. Thanks for stopping in. For sale is my 2002 Ford Explorer XLT. I'm selling this as I just got a brand new company car and the Explorer is now just sitting in the way. I hate to part with it, but it's in the way. It has 176,670 miles on it and about the last 76,000 miles are highway miles running back and forth between Janesville Wisconsin and either Elgin Il, Melrose Park IL, or Chicago Il. I am the third owner of the vehicle. It has been a great truck, but it's no longer needed. In the last 5,000 miles I've put about $1800 into it and have a huge stack of receipts going back to when it was new. All of the receipts that I have will be included with the sale. As far as fuel economy, I am still averaging between 18 and 20 mpg combined highway and city. Before listing this, I had the engine checked out. Compression looks like this and is listed by cylinder: 1=176, 2=175, 3=178, 4=173, 5=177, 6=174. According to my mechanic, this is excellent pressure as it is over 100 psi and less then 5 psi difference between the highest and lowest cylinder. According to him, in order to consider an engine good it should have 20 psi or less difference between the highest and lowest cylinder and be above 100 psi. I also had an oil pressure check done. The oil PSI is 55 psi. Good pressure is considered between 40 and 60 psi. PW, PB, PS, AM/FM/CD/Cassette Factory engine block heater Roof rack Rear defrost **This will need the actuator replaced for the front heat/AC blend door. **It will also need the actuator replaced for the rear heat/AC blend replaced as well. Both the heat and AC do work in the front and rear. The heat will literally roast you in the winter and freeze you in the summer. It's the best HVAC that I've had in a car or truck. **Per the Ford dealer, it will also need the front wiper motor replaced. The wipers work, but stay on once the switch is turned on. You have to turn the vehicle off, then on again to turn off the wipers. Ford says this was a factory problem and very common. It never bothered me, but might be an issue for the next owner. There is also rust on the inner right rear door dog leg, This is also common per the Ford dealer. **It will also need the power mirror switch (in driver door) replaced. Over $1000 recently was put into the front end. Ball joints, tie rod ends, etc. The receipt for this will also be included for warranty work if needed.
