Vehicle Detail

momo2qtz store This auction is for a 1962 220SE Coupe that has recently been serviced from a 20 year indoor storage. EXTERIOR: This car is originally a maroon with parchment leather car. It has had a rust free hood, trunk lid and right fender installed on the car (these pieces are from a white parts car – see the link to all of the detailed pics). The surface of the doors and the rear quarters were stripped years ago of the paint and you can see that surface rust has covered them but it is an easy fix during a repaint. The doors frames are rust free. The rear quarters have the usual rust on the bottom and around the wheel opening and so does the trunk floor. All the chrome appears to be with the car including the rear bumper but we cannot find the rear bumper brackets. The car comes with patch panels for the rear fender wells and the area between that and the rear bumper (again, see link to the pics). See detailed pictures here: https://picasaweb.google.com/115677838717805286678/1962MercedesBenz220SECoupeChicago?authkey=Gv1sRgCPGKkcL0tsKlFA - slideshow/5734828641840355250 INTERIOR: The car has a good leather interior and all the wood is in tact. It has an older original radio. All the glass is good. Please note that the lens on the speedometer is broken. The seats are correct to the car and in very good condition. The door panels are all good. Everything is there and in good shape. MECHANICAL: The car starts and runs great. The car has had the engine prepped after storage and it runs good (see the video link attached). The fuel tank should be cleaned out by the new owner. As you can see under the hood that we have a funnel that connects to the fuel injection pump for the gasoline so that we can show that the car runs good. It does have a flat on the right rear that is now fixed so the car rolls easily. We do not know the condition of the brakes because the car has been in long time storage. The new owner will need to service the car accordingly. We can provide links to YouTube video of car starting and running.  Please contact us, as eBay will not allow us to post an external link to video in our listing. The car has a clean blue Texas Title and we had the State put a new VIN plate in the door jam that matches the VIN on the tag on the ‘A’ pillar and the radiator core support. The last car we shipped to the UK was tagged the exact same way and there were no problems with the car clearing Customs. This is just how Texas does it now since the change in the laws last fall. Most of the States in the USA are now moving towards more strict VIN verifications. We use Classic Auto Title in Dallas/Fort Worth, the most well-respected Title service in Texas, and we are very satisfied with their integrity and customer service. Any Title questions can be directed to them. Call Leesy at 214-697-8948. To find one of these cars this complete and in decent shape is not common these days. This is a good car that needs a little TLC and has good potential. There will need to be some rust repair necessary and with new paint the car will be very presentable. Additionally, some service on the brakes and clutch cylinder and she ought to drive just fine. Please call Peter with any questions at 817-715-6163. I accept calls as early as 7am to as late as 11pm Central Standard Time (CST). I can assist in shipping worldwide. Please see my other Mercedes cars and parts for sale on ebay.
