My registration renewal with the MVA is coming due next month, so I am selling my 1997 BMW 540i. VIN IS WBADE6329VBW57200 I drive this car every day to and from work, about 50 miles round trip. 184,000 miles on the dash and I have put about 22,000 miles on the car since June 2010. The car is in very good shape right now as I have spent more than $3,000.00 to replace the following parts within the last 2 years: Automatic transmission has been replaced – 84,000 miles on the new transmission 4 newer Goodyear eagle GT tires, about 80% tread (guaranteed to pass inspection) with recent alignment Bosch OEM Fuel Pump, fuel filter, fuel lines Replaced Radiator, radiator hoses New throttle cables, serpentine and A/C belts New front swaybar, outer tie rod, stabilizer links, rear center links New HID Xenon headlights, new front bumper cover, replaced hood New pads and rotors were installed less than 5,000 miles ago other recently replaced parts: CAM sensor, oil cover gaskets, spark plugs, rear main seal, exhaust bulb gasket/ coolant reservior tank/ bmw hood emblem/logo, headlight moldings/ kidney grills, etc.. Crank case ventilation valve has been replaced (requires removal of the intake) by a BMW specialist I’ve also replaced a lot of the little things that normally break on all older BMW’s, the cup holders, windshield washer pump/motor, brake hoses, etc. 2 previous owners for this car did supply me with some maintenance records. They indicated the car has never overheated; it has not overheated in the time I have owned it either. There is no rust on the frame. The Check engine light (CEL) is not on! The interior is in good shape, there are no rips or tears on the leather seats, the dash is in great shape, the rear seats are pretty much new. There is some normal wear and tear, there are a few scratches on the wood grain but no chips/cracks. The airbag light has been on for some time, you can see on the instrument cluster in the picture The power steering line bleeds very slightly (under the hood), it has been this way for over 2 years without progressing any worse There are 2 indicators that come up on the dash, one for “check rear lights” and one for “check brake linings” - This is because the rear lights are aftermarket replacements (updated to clear lights as you see in the pictures), and the brake wear sensors are aftermarket (they’re fine, you could go to BMW and get OEM brake sensors for $25 if you wanted). The universal joint, UV joint was replaced when the transmission was replaced.
