Back ground: I am selling a few cars from the collection my father and I have. My father, Keith Huber, was featured in the Old Cars Weekly July 2007 issue of the "Buried Car". In 2008, Dad was killed in an accident and the collection is too large for me to take care of by myself, so I am looking for good homes for some of the cars and all parts. My dad passed on his love of the 57-59 Plymouth 2 door Hardtops and the Virgil Exner design. I have many wonderful memories as we worked on the collection side by side. I learned alot about Plymouths and alot about my Dad. One thing Dad taught me was "If you can't take care of it, you shouldn't have it". So I am offering the first of three cars I will be selling for another Mopar lover to enjoy. For Sale: 1957 Plymouth Belvedere, 2 Door Hardtop, originally Sand Dune White and was painted a Silver Blue. The Silver Blue is not original to Mopar, but is a beautiful color and the chrome just pops against it. This is an older restoration that is still in very good condition with a few scratches a minor areas of rust. The radio does not work. This was the last car my Dad and I purchased in 2007 and has been kept in a climate controlled garage. Other than keeping it mechanically sound, we did not do any work to this car. You will love the low rumble of the glass pack mufflers. (Yes I am my father's daughter and a gearhead to boot.) It has a Torqueflight transmission, a power brake booster and power steering. Also, it has the rare option of tinted "Solex" windows that were typically seen only in cars with Air Conditioning. I hope this helps answers others who have the same questions. 1.) THE NUMBER STAMPED ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE ENGINE BLOCK IS 1737828. I do not know if the engine is a 277 CI or a 301 CI. It does have a Torqueflite Transmission. My Savoy has a Powerflite Transmission and a 277 CI engine. It would make since that a 301 would match up with a Torqueflite but I have no information to verify that. 2.) I have very little background on the car before we purchased it, so I do not know if it is a numbers matching car. It originally came from Indiana and the owner that restored it passed away several years ago.
