Jetta is well used. Can be refurbished or used for parts. I bought Jetta at auction in early 2000's, refurbished at a cost of $3,500. I installed a 1,500cc remanufactured engine in mid 2000's. At the time, I had to disconnect and remove air conditioning, and replace power steering with manual steering to accommodate engine in car. I did add an extra heater source using the duct work from the air conditioning. Engine will need work soon. Probably new rings etc at the least. To drive, a plate will needed to be welded to front end (available from Parts Place). This car is in the rust belt. As such, be advised of possible weak links in front end to body. This car was used as commuter car by my wife for a number of years until 2008. Since then, has been used as a farm car. Mileage averaged about 45mpg. Mileage is unknown. At time of purchase, Jetta had 200,000 miles. The odometer has never worked. Jetta needs brakes.
