It's in good condition for its age and has only got 83k miles on it. That's right, this is a 20yr old car with 83,000 miles. We bought the car in an eBay auction back in October of 2006 with 75k miles on it for $8900. In that time we've replaced a number of parts but haven't driven it very much. My wife and I absolutely love this car, but it's just not practical for us anymore with 3-year old in a car seat, and a baby on the way. It tends to sit for long periods of time without being driven and is rarely driven more than a couple miles at a time. I've taken it for a couple ~60-mile rides in the last 6 months, and it still performs beautifully. If you've never driven a twin turbo stealth or a 3000GT, it's a real treat. This car defines "fun to drive". It is like a missile on wheels. Point it, punch it, and hold on. The all wheel drive puts all 300hp firmly on the road. This car would be ideal for an enthusiast, a collector, someone wanting a track or project car, or someone looking for a fun daily driver. This car really needs someone to drive it. This is not, however, a good first car for a 16 year old, and I reserve the right not to sell it to anyone that young. It would be in a ditch or wrapped around a pole in no time, and the car needs an owner who can properly maintain it. The Good: The tires have very few miles and look new. I measured ~11/32” of tread on one of the front ones. They are Continental Conti Extreme Contact tires size 245 / 45 R17. The oil in the transmission and transfer case were replaced in 2006 shortly after we bought the car. The 2 O2 sensors, timing belt, timing belt tensioner, water pump, crankshaft front seal, plugs, wires, and accessory belts were all replaced in the summer 2007. Although that isn't recent, they probably only have ~5,000 miles on them. The front valve cover gasket was replaced in April 2012. The new rear gasket from the Felpro set will be sold with the car in case the next owner needs it. The engine pulls hard! This car is a lot of fun to drive. The paint is in pretty good shape aside from the rear passenger side corner where there are a few scratches. Those could be reduced with some buffing. Other than that, just a few minor dings. No dents or major scratches. The AC blows very COLD and has not required topping off in the time we’ve owned the car! The heat works. The car even has electronic climate control which wasn't real common on cars from the early 90's. The ECU was professionally rebuilt in the spring of 2010 due to the common leaky capacitor problem that plagues these vehicles. One of the wheel bearings was replaced by NTB immediately after we bought the car. I want to say that it was front driver’s side but I’m not 100% sure. The interior is in good shape. There are no rips in the seats. This car is 100% un-modded. I can't speak to prior owners, but we've never raced it. I'm also including a $300 car cover that I bought in 2010. One of the plastic snap pieces is missing but you should be able to make it work. In addition to being a nice car, it's pre-1996. That means you don't have to take it in for emissions tests in Illinois. That's a very attractive point for anyone wanting to modify a car. Clean Carfax report available upon request. No accidents were reported. The Bad: The headliner has fallen and is held up with straight pins giving the quilted look. The driver's side window is stuck up. According to our mechanic, it's an electrical problem in the wiring of the door-jamb or the door itself, and we haven't bothered to have it fixed. There is rust on the windshield wiper arms and on a metal strip near the top of the hatch that was previously painted black (this is a separate piece of metal from the body). Both could be easily taken care of if someone put a small amount of time into it. Both are shown in the pictures above. The rubberized black coating on the metal trip strips next to the windows is peeling off. This is also shown in a picture. 5th gear is a little finicky. If you don't ease it in carefully on the left side, it grinds. It’s done this since we bought the car. The stock tape and CD player do not work. The radio works fine. Production: The Dodge Stealth was produced from 1991 to 1996. In the first year, 17,280 were produced of which only 3,016 were the turbocharged R/T model. Of those, 235 were produced in blue and only 12 were in this exact configuration. The Stealth’s sister car, the Mitsubishi 3000GT was produced through 1999. The 3000GT VR4 is nearly identical to the Stealth R/T. We are not offering any kind of financing. We are not interested in trades. We are not selling the car because we need the money fast. When you consider the car's value, please remember that th is a 20 year old, low mileage, 300hp sports car that can leave most cars on the road today in its dust. It's mechanically sound and just has a few cosmetic issues. If someone wants a blue one in good shape, the price is very reasonable. Please also note that the value of the Base or ES model you saw is completely irrelevant in valuing an RT. The base model was a 160hp front wheel drive version. The ES, while more powerful, was a 220hp front wheel drive version. This is the 300hp R/T Turbo. It is ridiculously fast bone stock and can be built up to insane power levels. If you know what a Stealth or a 3000GT is and are planning to buy one, the turbo RT (or Mitsu's VR4) is the model you want. Logistics: I'm not willing to arrange shipping for you but am willing to drop the car off somewhere within a reasonable distance of Des Plaines, IL. I am also willing to pick you up at O'Hare airport or a local train station if that helps you. If you have other needs, just ask. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
