Matching numbers 750 series 1958 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider Normale. A very well preserved example. Classic Alfa Red with black leather interior with red piping. Rebuilt original 1300cc engine. Photos and Videos                                               Body, Trim and Paint Having always resided on the West Coast and Arizona, the body of this early 750 series Alfa Giulietta Spider has been well preserved. The upper body is straight with no dents and  all opening panels have excellent fit. The underside is all original with only one small spot of rust in the box frame near the front left jack point. This area will either be professionally repaired for the winning bidder or a $250 credit will be given. The winning bidder can choose. Otherwise the underside is very solid with no rust and no evidence of prior rust repair. All trim parts are present and in  good condition. All chrome parts show good shine. All glass is in good condition with no chips or scrapes. Front and rear light lenses show no cracks. There is a  tear in the vinyl top at the rear right corner. There are records for several trim parts showing replacement or reconditioning in 2000. The original color is  the classic Alfa Red. Based on paint thickness measurements, the paint on the dash, door jambs and trunk is the original paint. Other surfaces wear an older repaint that has a few blemishes, but overall still shows very well. Interior The interior is upholstered in attractive black leather with red piping. Records show interior was done in April 2000, with approximately 4000 miles driven since that date. Seat frames were powdercoated in matte black, prior to reupholstering. The gauges, switches and knobs on the face of the dash are present and are appear to be all originals. Electricals Headlights (low and high beams), tail lights, brake lights, turn signals, license plate lights, horn, windshield wipers are functional. Heater fan is not functioning. The starter and generator are functioning fine.  A rebuilt generator was installed within last 4000 miles. Speedometer, tachometer and fuel gauges are functional. Oil temp gauge needs new sending unit. Generator charging light is functional. The odometer is functional and currently reads 74,205 miles. A correctly sized 12 volt battery is installed and is in good condition. Engine and Transmission The engine is the original 1300cc (number 131543387) factory rated at 71HP. Engine machine work documentation shows main line hone, crankshaft grind (throws and mains) and magnaflux, drill and tap oil lines in crank, recondition connecting rods, install new ring gear, balance engine, resurface flywheel, gaskets. Estimated 4000 miles has been accrued, since this work was completed. Records also show exhaust pipes and resonators were replaced in 2000. New radiator hoses and ignition components. Old cartridge oil filter removed and new FISPA spin on oil filter is installed. The engine starts easily, holds a steady idle and accelerates smoothly with excellent power. There is no smoking on startup or during hard acceleration. The original Solex carburetor has been replaced with a Weber for improved performance. Original Solex is included. The original 4 speed transmission shifts smoothly with  no grinding in any gear. Suspension, Wheels, Tires and Brakes The suspension is in  good condition and the ZF steering is smooth and precise. Suspension related records document the following: @ 70,468 miles - front and rear suspension inspection  with no worn parts found, all suspension bolts  tightened and grease fittings lubed, installed new transmission mount and shim cross member to correct angle, R&R front sway bar, press new link bushings on sway bar and shim sway bar away from body @ 71,312 miles - new KYB shocks and rear leaf springs  installed The original 15" steel  wheels are currently installed and are in excellent condition. Records show all five wheels were fully sandblasted and  powdercoated in mirror silver w/clear. The original chrome hubcaps are also in good condition. All five  185/65R15 sized Dunlop D60 radial tires show good tread. The brakes are functioning very well with no leaks or dragging. The emergency brake is adjusted correctly and holds tight.   Extra Parts and Documentation The following extra parts are included: Spare wheel, jack, original air filter box, original Solex carburetor, and assorted extra parts. Documentation includes original owners manual, factory service manual and detailed service records back to 1991.
