Vehicle Detail

1968 Firebird Camaro Clone Project This Firebird was in the process of being turned into a Camaro Clone. The rear quarters have been replaced with Camaro quarters and the 400 big block has been replaced with a Chevy 350 bored 30 with a 400 race cam in it. 4 barrel Edlebrock carb. Headers, Duel Exhaust. 10 bolt positrack rear end. New Battery, Alternator, Distributor cap, plugs and wires. New Sony CD player with Jenson Speakers. On the rear quarters I placed some stickers that I tried to make look like the gills and a skull on each side where the marker lights should be. Along with this car having all the Pontiac Historical Society Paperwork I also have the original owners manual in MINT condition. This car was originally Solar Red with a Vinyl top and 400 hood with tach. Originally a true 400 with a 4 speed transmission. Everything from the transmission back is original. Original Drum brakes all around. I did just have all the brake work done and everything is in topshape. The interior of the trunk is in great condition with minimal rust and very clean. The interior is in very nice condition with new carpet and headliner. The headline might need to be reintalled because it is drooping in a few spots. Not too bad but enough to know that it's not right. The rims on this car are Centerlines with Delta GT Road Max tires. The dash does have a few cracks in it. But I do have a dash liner to go over it. The only other damage on the interior is some slight cracking at the top left corner of the driver's seat and along the top edge of the back seat. Some amounts of rust have started to show up along the top edge of the wheel wells. Nothing too extensive. The front bumper does have a slight twist to it where it looks like someone hit it. The last bit that I would like to point out is that the top edge of the door glass has chips in them. But I have a spare original window for the driver's side door. I have also done etching work on the side rear and back windows. The etching work is a collage of skulls. The work is on the interior an exterior of the glass to give an effect of the skulls moving (depending on where you look). This car is very clean and sharp. Lines are nicely done. But the lines in the rear quarters don't match as well on the driver's side as it does on the passenger side. Still a great looking car. I would consider this to fall into the 7.0 to 7.5 out of a 10 when it comes to the condition. Just needs to be finished up. Whether that would be restoring it back to original or turning it into a Camaro clone. I get more looks and interest in this car than I do in my new 2010 Camaro. On Apr-20-12 at 15:30:58 PDT, seller added the following information: There are a few other things I needed to bring up that were pointed out to me. First off. I was wrong and this does NOT have a posi rear end. But I believe it is all original from the transmission back. Also there is a crack in the front windshield and it would have to be replaced. And the last thing is that the door jams have not been finished. This is a project car that is 90% done (in the eyes of the person tht I bought it from). Needs a little TLC. But still a nice car!
