Vehicle Detail
91 Geo metro 4dr hatchback LSI 3 cylinder 1.0L OHC, 3spd auto trans, drivers airbag, A/C. The Good________________ Fresh motor rebuild less than 3000 miles ago including a new starter. Fresh professionally machined head with all new parts that were needed. Rebuilt lifters. Fresh ground camshaft. Both intake and exhaust valves are titanium. Head was checked for cracks and defects and machined flat. New seals throughout. New head gasket and new stretch head bolts. New crank kit with new rod and main bearings. New pistons with new wrist pins and new standard rings with 3 piece oil control and hardened compression and scraper rings. Oil pump was rebuilt, timing belt was replaced with the tensioner. All new seals on the motor so there are no drips or leaks of any mention. Also has all new belts and air filter on the motor within the last 6 months. Transmission was replaced two years ago when I got the car. I also put in a brand new torque converter, fresh new filter and fluid change as well as an aftermarket fluid cooler all when I did the motor. Fresh tune-up with new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, egr and pcv valves. Passes state required emission testing with flying colors. The motor runs smooth and starts right up warm or cold. The motor mounts are all in good condition with 2 being new. New $600 professionally done brakes front and rear at Just Brakes. New exhaust system including catalytic converter. New battery. Has 13” wheels and tires and the tires have only a few thousand miles on them. Includes a same size spare. New suspension parts including cv axles, bearings, control arms, ball joints. Front wheel drive car has great traction and it is so light that with the new brakes it stops on a dime. Very cold air, brand new a/c compressor with a complete service and recharge including receiver/drier and all new o-rings. The heater works very well for winter trips also. Nice pioneer cd/mp3/wma player with new speakers up front. Very nice velour dash mat that is pretty near new (there is one crack in the dash above the dash cluster). Nice new steering wheel with good firm grip and air bag restraint in it. Drives very nice and its much tighter feeling than its age and looks would indicate. 2 new rear hatch supports. 8 way driver leather power seat with lumbar, and similar passenger leather seat. They both have built in heaters that are not hooked up yet. All they need are two switches to have the heaters work. They are from a 2008 ford vehicle. We still have the factory front seats that are in decent condition if you want we can include them with the car. The car has been very dependable and we only are selling it to help our daughter out with a down payment on her home. It needs nothing mechanically that would stop you from driving it across town or across country. Things can break, but we have replaced many parts and the car has been very dependable for us. As far as mileage goes it really depends on how and where you drive. They automatic transmission takes off a couple of MPG, driving fully loaded takes off a couple more, and driving above 75 MPH takes off yet a few more, and A/C takes yet even more. So on average, we can get from 30 to 45 mpg with this vehicle. I guess the saying; “mileage may vary” is fitting in this situation. And if someone says they get 50 or more with an automatic with air, they may not be telling the whole truth. You would have to hyper-mile to get this kind of mpg with a similar car. Anyway we are just trying to be honest and tell you our experience so you know what to expect when gas hits $6.50 a gallon. The Needs________________ The windshield is cracked, the windshield squirters do not work (They may be plugged again, I already unplugged them once). Needs a muffler, could be installed professionally for around $80(do it yourself and it costs $40 online) the muffler is not plugged, the hangers on the back are decayed (rubber). The door panels are not perfect as the plastic is aged and chipping off in places from sun damage (especially the arm rest areas). The carpet is old. All but the drivers windows don’t always roll up and down perfectly straight (if you hold the glass and direct them, then they roll up properly). We put a new ignition in the car so the key does not lock or unlock the doors, we have never needed to lock them, no one bothers anything. My daughters liked the car with a starter button so I put one in. The key MUST be on in order for the car to start with the button. It's a one wire move if you would rather have it start with a key only. It's a great security device! The car has a dent in pretty much every body panel, but it looks ok. Everything works though and it is very dependable. In fact we were using it for my daughter to commute to ASU and back every day and never had a break down even one time. We have owned it for almost 3 years and hate to sell it. However you must keep in mind that this is a 21 year old car with over 100,000 miles on the body. Don’t expect a new car when you come to look at it. Expect a dependable, reasonably priced car with a few signs of wear. Clean AZ Title ready to sign over. Has and will pass smog check with no issues. This car is sold AS-IS! I have done my best to give you an honest description of the car. If you want more specific photos of something then feel free to email and I'll do my best. Cars are subjective and what one person thinks is a pro or a con, another may not, so you must ask anything that you deem important before the close of the auction.
