Vehicle Detail

No Rust - Original Paint - California Garage Kept Suvivor - 1969 428 SJ - Leather Interior 1969 Pontiac Grand prix SJ - This is a lifelong garage kept black plate California car that has spent its entire life here in the central valley. The car was 1 family owned prior to my purchase last year. I purchased the car from the original owners daughter(who is 68). Her father bought the car brand new for her mother in early '69 from Arnold Wiebe Pontiac in Visalia California. The car was always garage kept and well maintained by them. Please keep in mind that this a driver quality car.... not a points judged show car.... or at least not at this time in my opinion. I do have a clean and clear California title in my name and the vehicle is currently registered and ready to drive anywhere. The paint and vinyl top are original as are the T-3 headlights and windshield..... how many 43 year old cars still have their original windshield and headlights? Sometime in the late 70's someone backed into the drivers door in a parking lot... the door was repaired and repainted.... but the rest of the paint appears to be original and presents a very nicely aged patina.... but does exhibit the usual nicks scratches and flaws that are to be expected of a 43 year old paint job. The vinyl top is in excellent condition and free of any flaws. Please keep in mind that this is a rust free.... I repeat ZERO rust California car that has spent its entire life here in the central valley... the undercarriage is excellent with no rust or rot.... this is not some east coast rot bucket.... this is a virgin California car that has never ever seen salt or snow... The interior is in excellent original condition. The dash and door panels do NOT have the usual cracks and splits usually seen on these cars. The steering wheel is excellent and free of any cracks. The carpet is original and not worn. The headliner and other panels are in excellent original condition. The seats are in excellent original condition as well. The interior is that of a 5-7 year old car that has been babied. The original XF code numbers matching 428ci 370hp engine starts and runs excellent. The 428 engine still retains its original #62 heads and the original Quadrajet carb. The turbo 400 transmisson shifts great as well.... the car stops on a dime too. The car is an excellent driver and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. Since purchasing the car I have done the following work: 4 new brand name radial tires - recored the original radiator - new fan clutch and thermostat - installed 4 new shocks - 2 new lower ball joints - new upper control arm bushings - new hoses - new battery - and more.... Everything works and functions as it should..... All the windows work, power seat and locks work.... radio, wipers, gauges and all the lights work and function as they should.... As with any 43 year old car there are a few minor thing that could use attention.... the fuel gauge is not accurate, climate control works intermittenly... when it works properly... the A/C blows cold...... This car is loaded with all kinds of cool options such as: SJ package - cordova top - AM-FM stereo - remote mirror - rally II wheels - power steering - power windows - power seat - power door locks - air conditioning - leather interior - safe T track (3.23 posi) - 428/370 V8 - tach and gauges - woodgrain steering wheel - tilt wheel - and more (see PHS photo) The fine print................ This is a bid to win auction. I will not end the auction early. If you are truly intrested in purchasing this car and have the funds in hand please feel free to bid what you think its worth. If you have any questions and would like to talk in person please feel free to call me at (925)550-8289... my name is Joe. The winning bidder is expected to have a $1,000 deposit to me within 48 hours of the auction closing. The balance must be paid within 20 days of the auction closing. The vehicle must be picked up within 30 days of the auction closing. Shipping is buyers responsability. Thanks you and good luck, Joe On Apr-20-12 at 19:14:09 PDT, seller added the following information: At this time... the car has a little over 200 ebayers watching the auction.....
