1965 DATSUN L320 Pick-up. 1200cc 4 cyl., w/4spd. Transmission. Fun little truck... perfect for cruising around town or running to Home Depot. Been in our family for years; Grandpa used to drive it in the 4th of July parade. Runs and drives great. Early Datsun trucks have a very ‘British’ type feel … reminds me of a Hillman. Engine starts easy, runs smooth. Transmission shifts smooth with no strange noises. Brakes ‘clunk’ a little at first but settle in after first couple stops. Body is straight; paint fair w/various nicks and scratches... 1st repaint but many years ago ... still it’s presentable for puttering around town. Floors and bed are straight, solid and not rusted. The only rust is at the bottom of front fenders with a little bubbling at the bottom/rear of the cab. What might appear at first glance to be rust [at the front of the bed] is really paint that has flaked off; same with the back of the cab roof/gutter area and the windshield gasket area. The windshield has wiper rash, scratches and a small rock chip/star. This truck is a perfect candidate for restoration although it’s quite usable and fun as is. Needs: Tires are old [should be replaced] but still have good tread. Rear shocks need to be replaced … windshield/window rubber and door seals are very tired. Washington state residents note the permanent ‘classic’ license plate … no need for yearly license tabs. Disclaimer: Take your time to look over the pictures. Understand 'what you are bidding on'. The engine was completely rebuilt years ago .. [ '80's?] I can guess it has 35K and 40K on the rebuild. You may withdraw your bid if this information changes your interest in the truck.
