This is the cleanest body I have seen in 15 years of interest in MG Midgets. This car is my love, my pride and joy. Within the last 100 miles I bought a new tank, had it coated with a POR product by a radiator shop, painted the outside of the tank, replaced the lines, and replaced the carburetors. The carburetors were purchased brand new from Victoria British on 8/30/11, for $749.95 plus tax and shipping. Also within the last 100 miles, I replaced the cap, rotor, plugs and wires. Within the last 1000 miles the tires, wheels, battery, and steering wheel were replaced. The glass was also replaced. The paint looks good at about 15 feet, and the body has no patches, no bondo, and no work ever done to it excepting the front right fender. Even the seams where the rear fenders meet the unibody are clean and rust free, as are the A pillars, areas behind the rear wheels and floor. You can still see the factory spot welds. The seat covers have a wonderful patina and look original. The foam is 1000 miles old, but the webbing needs to be replaced. The chrome bumpers are excellent. The photos reflect the non-glossy paint on that fender. There is a small dent close to the right rear brake light. The clutch slave cylinder might need to be replaced as the feel of the pedal is slightly too quick. I have a new slave cylinder that I will include in the auction. You can certainly drive it as it fully engages, but the takeup is slightly too aggressive for my taste. I have the wipers but never used them and took them off. The car is sold with a used stainless steel exhaust pipe, not yet on the car. There is a one inch rip in the top, but the vinyl window is not cloudy. The car is sold without a title, but, rather, a Florida certificate of destruction. The car spent one hour in fifteen inches of fresh water, and endured another hour of my sobbing while I drained and replaced the differential, trans, and engine oil. The car drives well but cannot be registered in Florida, please check your state to determine eligibility for registration. Feel free to phone me with questions, 305.741.3866. I will take the Florida plate off the car at sale. I will give up the Cali plates, but, do not plan on driving in Ft. Lauderdale with them. Right headlight low-beam is not operational, nor is the temperature gauge,or the windshield wipers, the light might be the bulb as the brights do work. I will not allow test drives on public streets before ownership is transferred as I don't have liability insurance on the car nor is he license plate registered.
