Vehicle Detail

This is a 1970 VW bug that I purchased out of North Carolina. It had minimal rust problems that were taken care of during the restoration process. The floor board on the passenger side was removed and professionally welded back in place. Once the car was disassembled and cleaned it was prepped for paint with changes to the dash and rear apron. The yellow paint was applied and then the graphics (which are all paint). The paint has only small defects such as small chips that have appeared in the 20 years since completion. It has had minimal use since my children were born, hence only 2799 miles on new motor. All of the major systems on the car were replaced or serviced during the 2 year process. The motor was purchased from Bernie Bergman out California (I have receipt) and the transmission was a new street and strip model (not sure of maker). The motor is a 2110cc model with dual carbs. This engine and transmission combo makes for a very fast bug. It has been a blast to drive around on short trips before kids. The car still has drum brakes at all four corners, but it does not seem to have to many problems stopping. The wheels are aluminum 15 inch from Budnick. Tire size now is 205-55-15. They could be bigger for a slightly better ride or the car could be lowered over the tires more. The interior of the car was redone from the headliner to the carpet. The only original part inside the car was the back seat. Front seats are from Flofit and are very nice to be in during aggressive driving. The door panels are black and grey while the seats and carpet are black. Headliner is white. Major modifications were made to the dashboard. All of the gauges were replaces with VDO gauges. Gauges include: Fuel, MPH, Tachometer, Oil Pressure, Oil Temperature, Cylinder temperature, and Voltage. All of the gauges were wired new during the restoration. Warning lights are included for turn signals, oil pressure drop, brights, voltage drop and hazards. There is also a switch to control the fan for one of the two oil coolers. Also included is a Sony tape player(awesome in the early 90's) and related speakers (2 door, 2 back deck and 10 inch sub). The car does need two things. First, the brake lights do not illuminate. Possibly bad switch (bulbs are good). And the wipers have a short or a bad switch. Wiper motor functions when hooked directly to 12 volts. I will assist with delivery of the car an my end after arrangements have been made and cash a has been delivered. Thanks Dave
