I am selling my 1 ton project truck for another 1 ton truck. I bought a 1986 GMC 1 ton 4x4 single wheel truck from a municipality out west and brought it back to Ohio to restore. The truck never had a hitch in the bed, pushed snow, been in the mud, etc… the truck/drive train has 83,000 original miles and was never wrecked. The frame/axels/drive train is still there and the true 1 ton with Dana 60 up front and full floater in the rear (410 gears), 400 auto with 205 transfer. The registration I received had the truck GVW rated at 12,000. The rear axle/frame has factory extra helper springs/brackets installed as well. The frame has NEVER had any rust on in! I did switch the cab for the same year 4x4 cab (86 GMC 4x4 K15 cab). This cab was the same year, a factory 4x4, and factory auto with all the options!!! I do have the correct clear title for the cab/truck !!! I switched out the cabs because the original cab had zero options and they had drilled safety lights all over it along with those police lights through the front cab supports. The cab that is currently on in is in good shape but will need cab corners. The floor/cab supports and the underneath are almost perfect as it was not subjected to the salt of Ohio and all 4 cab bolts easily came out and went back in. The doors are starting to rust underneath. Front fenders and core support are rust free. Truck bed is 95%rust free as it was the one that came with the truck from out west. There are a couple quarter inch holes drilled on both sides of the bed that will need filled, and the inside of the bed does have some dents and dings from being used, all in all the bed is in pretty good shape. All the body parts lined up perfectly with no shims on the cab or bed as the frame was perfectly straight. The truck does not lean or sage. New parts include new steering gear box, lockout hubs, hydro-boost system, power steering pump, brake master cylinder, and a lots more! The truck has dual tanks with the larger tanks installed. I have actually been driving the truck over the past month putting a couple hundred miles on it making sure everything worked before I took it to the body shop. To tell you the condition of the frame, when I bought the truck this past year, the emergency brakes still worked, and all the spring bolts in the rear came out as there was no rust!!. The brake and fuel lines were still shiny with no corrosion. The gas tank straps unbolted easily and reused them (checked the tanks for rust under straps, was none). The truck is being sold as a rolling chassis as I am keeping the rebuilt motor along with the rims/tires. The original rims will be put back on which have excellent matching tires. When I pull the engine everything else will stay (torque converter, power steering pump, etc…). The only reason I am selling this truck is I found my dream 1987 1 ton 4x4 with a 4 speed and 30,000 original miles!!! This truck just needs a motor and a paint job/body finished. By the way, the truck handled great on the road!!! Truck is pickup only! I live just west of Columbus Ohio off of St Rt 29 (Urbana, OH 43078).
