Vehicle Detail
1964 F85. Overall a very solid car…only real rust is the area in the trunk floor just above the forward rear mounts. Also, the same location in the rear wheel wells (small area). Rest of the car is solid, still has original paint, and original interior. Car was a one family owned car before I bought it. Original owner drove the car until 1985 and parked it in a storage building on his farm. Sat parked the next 27-years. Because it sat so long the engine was locked up. I bought the car just for the challenge of getting it running. With some trial and error, was slowly able to get it to free up and eventually spin over by hand, then the starter, and eventually running. Carb was full of gunk as well as bad fuel. Purged best I could and now car runs fairly well of car fuel system. I have only driven it around my yard, and the street just out front. This is good car to finish what I started now that it’s running. Hate to see it go the parts route, but that is up to the new owner. Note: Dash pad/glove box area is as nice as they come for original…next to new looking. Exterior chrome is nice as well….except the bumper…they have taken a betting most likely from farm equipment. Car would need to be gone completely through from a safety standpoint before driving for more than loading offloading on a trailer. Brakes, and all work like they should, but since it has sat so long….better to inspect and replace vs try to drive as is. On Apr-14-12 at 10:33:48 PDT, seller added the following information: I've had a lot of interest and questions on the car. The number one question is, does it run...please read above. I've listed most everything I can tell you there. Please remember, my reserve was at a parts car price, but you are getting much more than a parts car should you choose to put it back on the road. The new owners call. Yes, I have the MN title for those "must have a title state" like Florida. Reserve has been met so car is going to someone. Thanks for all the interest....On Apr-14-12 at 14:35:40 PDT, seller added the following information: Yes, there are many dings, bumps, bruises and small dents. Yes, the hood is damaged on the pass side just above the headlight bucket. Yes there is a dent on the driverside rear quarter panel by the tail light. Yes, the rear deck lid has a dent in it. Yes, there is some surface rust on both the rear quarters. Yes, the paint has some fading and age related wear. Yes, both the front and rear bumpers have dents, dings, and surface rust. No, the car isn't ready to be driven long distances. Reserve was at a parts car price...bid what you think it is worth beyond that. Thanks for the questions, and hope this clears up the condition of the car. Please be prepared to trailer or dolly the car home. Car must be picked up within 7-days of auction end, unless we make other arrangements. Thanks again.....
