Vehicle Detail

Here we have a 1996 Mazda Miata, this was originally a base car(no power windows or cruise control, and steel wheels) with an automatic transmission. I bought this car to "tinker" with, and I have done so and continue to do so, I am just ready to pass it along to the next person. I currently own too many cars and am trying to clear some garage/yard space. This is the seventh Miata that I have owned, I currently have two others. These are great fun little cars. I will not try to tell you that this is a "rare" automatic, there are plenty of automatics, just fewer of them than 5 speeds. According to "Forever MX5" magazine only 13.5% of the first generation Miatas were black, compared to 15% white, and 39% red. The prevoius owner was a college girl that moved on to an SUV after graduation. Prior to my purchase the car has had the following; new radiator, water pump and timing belt, three new tires( I bought one new one to match the other three), someone swapped the steel rims for a set of older(90-93) "daisy" wheels, it has had a racing beat intake installed, someone has put a leather seering wheel cover on,and she carried her white dog with her in the car(hair in carpet - coming out, more comes out each time I vacuum). I have done the following; had the wheel lock removed from the wheel with the non-matching tire, had a new tire installed to match the other three(all have plenty of tread/life left), had a four wheel alignment done, installed a set of Eunos centercaps, replaced burned out bulbs, tightened the "sloppy" automatic shifter, did a complete tune up(plugs, plug wires, pcv valve, cleaned and re-oiled air filter), replaced cam angle sensor o ring, replaced valve cover gasket, removed poorly installed alarm system, replaced hand brake cover, replaced steering clock spring so horn will work, changed the oil, ran fuel injector cleaner through fuel tank, replaced broken windshield cowl trim, replaced leaking windshield washer hoses, lubricated seat tracks, lubricated window tracks and replaced window guide rollers, made water shields for both door panels, removed the half stolen stereo system and installed a Kennwood AM/FM Cd player, added a rear sub-frame brace to tighten the rear suspension, patched holes in the top, replaced antennae with a non-oem fixed unit, added a OEM cupholde wher ethe aashtray was missing, recovered the aftermarket leather armrest, repaired battery hold down, fixed leaking trunk, oiled/adjusted doors-trunk-hood, re-attached the under engine plastic pan/skid plate, checked brake pads, replaced top latches, and whatever else I noticed to tighten or adjust. The history report shows this car has been bumped several times, I know the hood, trunk lid and both doors have been replaced all are oem parts. The trunk has a spoiler that has a small crack, and fading paint. There is a scrape on the drivers side behind the door and a dent in the quarter panel right abouve the wheel well. There are two places on the back bumper where the paint has been chipped off(see pics). There are other normal "highway scars". The top has a glass back window, but the top will need to be replaced soon unless you park it inside or under cover. The seats are leather, but are splitting at the seams in several places. The air bag light stays on (I hoped the new clock spring would fix this) so far I have not found why. The transmission leaks a bit, I just keep an eye on it, and have added a sealant to it. It is missing the jack, lug wrench, and hold down bolt for the spare tire. The AC and heat work great, all lights work now, and headlight motors function properly, it shifts as it should and it runs well. There are some rust spots around the windshield(see pics). It is not a perfect car,but is fun cheap transportation, a little more tinkering and a paint job and she would make a great toy or first car for someone. My daughter has been driving it since she can't drive any of the others(5 speeds) and has been getting around 24 to 30 MPG. This car is sold " as is where is" buyer is responsible for pick up. There is no warranty written, implied or expressed on this vehicle. I have described this car as honestly as I can, if you have any questions please ask. A deposit of $100 is required through Pay-Pal within 24hrs of the end of the auction. The balance is to be paid in full in cash when the car is picked up. I have clear title in hand. I reserve the right to cancel this auction if the car sells locally. Kelly Blue Book shows this car in "good" condition at $3330.00, my reserve is much lower than that.On Apr-13-12 at 13:11:33 PDT, seller added the following information: RESERVE HAS BEEN LOWERED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
