1979 10TH ANNIVERSARY LIMITED EDITION TRANS AM! ONE OF THE VERY BEST EXAMPLES OF A SURVIVOR CAR THAT YOU WILL FIND! ALL NUMBERS MATCHING 400 6.6, 4 SPEED CAR! COMPLETELY UNMOLESTED & RUST FREE! LOADED WITH EVERY OPTION KNOWN TO MAN! WORKING AC, POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, POWER WINDOWS, ELECTRIC TRUNK, T-TOPS, 36K ORIGINAL MILES, & IT COMES WITH IT'S ORIGINAL BUILDSHEET! If you've ever wanted to see what it was like to drive a 1979 Trans Am that felt like it just came off of the assembly line, this is it. This Trans Am handles like a dream. You won't find a better example of a survivor car than this. It is something you have to see, hear, and feel in person in order to fully appreciate it. In this rare case, the photos and video do this Trans Am absolutely no justice. This Trans Am has rarely seen the light of day and it has never been jacked with. No goofy modifications, no crappy add ons, no shade tree nonsense has been done to this Trans Am. It has always been pampered and is in excellent condition. It is completely solid & turn key. The motor and transmission have never been pulled from this Trans Am. Even the Reverse Lockout is still hooked up. Very rarely do I get the opportunity to feel that factory feel. Most anything that was built pre-1982 has undergone some type of treatment. You just can NOT replicate the true and authentic feel of a survivor car. It is truly remarkable and I can assure anyone who is interested, you will not be disappointed once you're driving this beautiful Trans Am. Body: The body on this Trans Am is completely solid. There is no bondo, no rust (aside from minor surface rust underneath, nothing major), it is very straight and retains all of its original factory sheet metal. The underside still retains much of its original undercoating. As you will see, it is completely solid. If this Trans Am were entered in to a competition, the only thing that would take it out of the survivor category is the fact that it has had some minor paint work done to it. It does for the most part retain most of its original paint and as you can see, it does shine out beautifully. However, the rear spoiler has been repainted with its factory color. These spoilers were notorious for paint cracking and chipping away so at some point, the previous owner had it repainted professionally. All of the glass through out the Trans Am is original and is in excellent shape. There is cracks or pitting. Engine & Mechanical: Located below you will find a photo of the VIN off of the block. This Trans Am does retain its original/matching 6.6 400 as well as its original four speed transmission. Both of which I do not believe have ever been pulled from the car. Both work extremely well. The motor does not smoke or burn an excess amount of fluid nor does the transmission. Both function extremely well. The 400 has a tremendous amount of power and the four speed shifts smoothly with absolutely no issues at all. The power steering and power brakes both work very well. The Trans Am does not squeal or have a lot of play when turning and the brakes stop with ease. The Trans Am doesn't vibrate or pull when stopping. All of the electrical components through out the Trans Am are in good working order. Everything works with the exception of the tachometer. It was working when we obtained it and when I was taking photos, I noticed that it had quit so I am planning to take a better look at it. The AC compressor as you will see is functional but does need recharged. If I can obtain our asking price, I will have it charged before it leaves. You will also notice within the video, the power windows work perfectly. There is no slouch or delay in them when rolling them up and down. The rear end is also stock and is in excellent working order. it does not whine or drip any fluid. Interior: The interior is completely original and is in great shape. There is no cracks, tears, or stains through out the interior. The gauge cluster is in great shape as is the entire dash. The door pads, seats, center console, both front and back, carpet, it is all in great shape and is completely original. I would also like to point out that we also have the original 10th Anniversary key which was made specifically for this Trans Am in 1979. It is completely functional and will go with the car. We also have a brand new set of correct floor mats that will also go with the car. Located below the passenger seat, we have found the original build sheet! This Trans Am also has it's original and 10th Anniversary specific red back lights within the instrument panel. It is completely functional and in excellent working order. The radio as you will see within the video is also in good working order! Everything works on the Trans Am with the exception of the tachometer. I can tell you that if I were to have my choice between our car and one that has been through a concourse restoration, I would take ours every day of the week. The best builder on the planet simply can not replicate the feel of a factory built car. I do have documentation that will go with the car once it sells. Aside from a good detailing, this Trans Am needs nothing. I will be evaluating all reasonable offers and I will in fact sell the Trans Am early as we do have it for sale "locally". I strongly encourage anyone who is interested to please call or email to schedule a time to come check it out. I would also like to add that I am usually on the phone from 7 AM until about 12 AM so you are always welcome to call and if I do not answer, just leave a message and I will return your call immediately. I know from my own experience with purchasing cars online, most of the time it is very difficult to get someone on the phone and to obtain the information you need. So I try to always stay on top of emails and phone calls. We do have a clear title for this Trans Am. As always, good luck and happy bidding!
