Vehicle Detail
1953 Ford Customline Club Coupe. Has flathead V8 engine and three speed on the column with OVERDRIVE. I bought the car out of a barn in Cleveland TN several years ago, and had not done anything to it until recently. I did what was necessary to get it back on the road again. I replaced the drivers side front wheel cyliner and brake hose. Flushed the gas tank and installed new gas line from the tank to the fuel pump. Also added a electric fuel pump inline to help with start up after sitting for long periods of time. Also nice to have a backup just in case. I also added a 12 volt one wire GM alternator. New belts and radiator hoses. The tires that were on the car when I got it were rotten, so I painted the wheels red and put on some real nice wide whitewall tires, Also installed a new glass pack muffler and short pipe turned down under car. I put the NOS seat covers on the seats, they are probably from the 60's and look really good with the rat rod theme of the car. It does have the orginal type rubber floor mats that cover all the floor front and rear. The body of the car has had rust and been patched by previous owners over the years. I did sand the car down and gave it a flat black spray job with a good ureathane primer sealer. Looks like the old days spray bomb can paint job. The car is fun to drive, and I have driven it around a 100 or so miles. I did test the overdrive transmission and it shifts really well. The solinoid on it is SIX volt so I cant wire it up full time, it would need a 12 volt solinoid or a way to reduce it down before using it full time. Overall this is a nice driving cruise in type car to have fun with. I have a clear Tennessee title in hand.
