Driven into storage in 1976 .. towed out in 2012 ! If your reading this ad you know how rare these DeSotos are. Fully restored you will find this exact model has sold on Barrett-Jackson for $65,000 - $104,000. I bought this with every intention on restoring it but after some research this one is simply out of my league. This car is still fully intact .. very original and complete ! The Good : Ultra rare Tripple Black ... paint code "AAA" Its all there from the air cleaner to oil pan original hemi single four barrel All exterior chrome present All interior chrome present Original radio Original hubcaps Spare tire metal cover .. its all there Replacement windshield found in junk yard in 1976 Replacement rear glass found in junk yard in 1976 spare set of tail light lenses found in junk yard in 1976 No bondo / body work found so if its rotted its bad if not its metal The bad: Needs COMPLETE frame off restoration !! Needs floor pans ... trunk pan .. side rocker panels replaced (all available reproduction online) Some rot in rear quorters around wheel openingsr front passenger wheel froze .. maybe rusted rotor .. not sure but it dosent roll rear driver side leafspring failed but replacement spring found in trunk (junk yard find in 1976) front driver side torsion bar failed Drivetrain is 100% complete but last ran in 1976 when it drove into barn .. its all there but everything needs rebuilt / restored. The hard to find parts are all here .. the parts that need replacement like the metal floors / trunk / rockers are all available reproduction. Worth more than most antique corvettes this one is worth bringing back ... this DeSoto screems 1950's I will start this auction at less than what the interior / exterior chrome is worth ... no reserve. I do so with the hope it goes to someone who can bring back this untra rare tripple black 50's classic .. if your intent is to part it out please pass up my auction .. there are so few of these left it is a piece of american history that should be brought back.
