My 1998 Jaguar XK8 is offered for sale to the highest bidder on a true no reserve auction. I bought my wife a new car this past weekend and must regretfully let this baby go to help pay for her wheels. Since purchase, two years ago, I have upgraded and done quite a bit of work. The brakes were re done with new rotors and pads and fluids. The battery was replaced last year. I have put new Michelin tires on the front end and the Pirelli's on the back are in great shape and I should mention that there is a new Pirelli in the trunk. The top is in fine shape and goes up and down fine. I re-did the timing chain tensioners which is a disastrous problem when they fail. I replaced the spark plugs and redid the power steering system. The car drives fast and strong and straight with terrific pick up. There are no lights or warning signals on anywhere on the car. I have all the original books, keys, and two fobs. There are still a couple of small items I have yet to get to. The car makes an intermittent rattle from 35-40 mph when going uphill. I asked my mechanic and first he could not hear the sound at all, but later advised there might be a problem with the exhaust baffle. Not sure, but the problem comes and goes and does not affect performance. Also, the check engine light is out. Not sure if it is a bulb or what but again, does not affect engine performance. Lastly, a variety of dings and tiny dents on the car as one might expect. There was some sort of body work done prior to my purchase, but looks like the work was well done. Also, the interior car seats do have some wear as might be expected with a 14 year old car, a couple of small tears in the fabric, but none in the leather, could be easy repaired by an upholstery shop.
