This car was a special order for a Ms. Fox in Columbus, OH and was delivered 11/23/1984 at Ed Potter Mercedes, which is now Germain Mercedes.   It is finished in #623 Light Ivory, and has every available option including third row seat, chrome wheels, chrome roof cross-bars, and rear headrests.   Like most new luxury car buyers, Ms. Fox drove this car for a few years before trading back to the selling dealer towards a new Mercedes in 1990.  Title history shows this wagon sat on the front line for only a few days before finding its new owner, a college professor at The Ohio State University.  The professor drove this car to campus everyday, until 1997 when he traded it in to Byers Porsche Audi towards a new vehicle.  This is where the third owner, a certified mechanic and grandfather, quickly picked it up.   This was his garaged 'show car' for over a decade... it was used as a sunny day only vehicle until he purchased a vintage Mercedes convertible and offered me the opportunity to acquire his prized 300td.   The exterior of this car is in beautiful condition.    You would not believe the attention this car gets at car shows, let alone a quick trip to the supermarket.  The Light ivory paint is original and in excellent shape... especially for being almost 30 years old!    It is deep and glossy.. it looks incredible, and gets constant compliments.   All glass is original, every molding and trim piece is present.    The chrome wheels are in great shape... showing how well this car was taken care of.    The power antenna does work. What you can't see is just as important as what you can, especially on a vintage Mercedes.  Please pay attention to how clean and rust-free the rockers and jacking points are on this vehicle... the underbody and floorpans are also very clean.  The previous owner, the mechanic, went to the trouble of routinely packing the jacking points with grease to prevent corrosion in addition to his maintainence routine.  I thought it was excessive until I put the car on a lift... his efforts to preserve this car really paid off. The interior on this car is equally impressive.  The seats are supportive, comfortable, and in nice shape, and the third row seat looks like it was never used.  The door panels are in excellent shape, not sagging, and the headliner is perfect. The wood trim is all present, matching, and crack-free!   The cleanliness of this car always surprises me.. you can open the most random unused compartment and it will be very clean,  for example, the area under the second row seat the first time I folded the seats down.    The drivers seat does have a small tear, and the dash has a crack.   This car was a non-smoking car, is free from any odors, and even includes the unused original cigarette lighter.   This car was extremely well maintained and includes extensive service records for most of its life.   It always starts right up, even in the winter.  It has a nice diesel sound, and picks up to speed very well.  The engine runs strong, and transmission shifts smooth. THE AC IS COLD!    All major service including timing belt and water pump have been done.  This car runs and drives great including at highway speeds... should you chose to pick up this vehicle yourself, I'm sure you will have quite an incredible drive home with your new vintage Mercedes.  I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car anywhere. The State of Ohio allows dealers 30 days to provide title, however, most of ours are delivered the day payment clears.                                                              Deposit:                       We require a deposit of $500 within 24 hours of auction end.  Contact us if you need any special arrangements and we will do our best to help.                                                                                   Final Payment: This vehicle must be paid for and the sale completed                      within 5 days from the end of this auction unless you make other arrangements with us. I have received calls from across the country on this vehicle, as well as local interest. There are more watchers than we've seen in any of our other auctions in the past. As such, we have decided to let the auction run until the end... a true eBay auction. Our reserve price is very fair for this particular car, so don't hesitate to bid thinking you won't win. On the contrary, you will be able to pick up a clean all original TD for less than the other auctions on eBay. Please have cash or certified funds ready, a bank will NOT loan on a vehicle this old, no matter how good your credit. Shipping is not a problem so long as you pay actual costs, we work with a great shipping company. To answer some of the other questions: We recently had the vaccuum system serviced and are proud to report all vacuum door locks work, including gas door and rear hatch! You can lock the doors with the key and walk away. Climate functions such as front defrost, rear defrost, AC, high and low are all work. The rear wiper works on both settings, as does the rear sprayer. All power windows go up and down smoothly without issue. All gauge lights and button lights work. All gauges including tach work. The rear air suspension (wagon) functions correctly. The roof rack is in excellent condition, and the hard to find included cross-bars have been known to sell in the $350-500 range if you decided to part with them. This wagon DOES have the desired 60/40 split folding second row seat with headrests. Lastly, the floorpans, rockers, jacking points, frame, etc are in great shape. We have had several 300 series and this is by far the cleanest inside and out. No excuses, all original car here.
