1971 FORD LTD COUNTRY SQUIRE STATION WAGON – CALIFORNIA CAR VEHICLE HISTORY: The vehicle has spent 38 of its 41 years in Southern California, and three years in Northern California. The original owner lived in Pasadena, CA and used the car to tow a travel trailer. I am the second owner having purchased the vehicle from its original owner in 1986. In 1992 a mechanical and cosmetic restoration was performed at 154,475 miles. The vehicle has been kept garaged for the past 18 years. FEATURES: Air-conditioning, power windows, power brakes, power steering, power rear window with remote switch, power door locks, tow package with electric trailer brakes, rear air-assisted shock absorbers, aftermarket AM/FM Cassette radio, 1970s vintage CB radio and antenna. Due to its vintage, the vehicle is exempt from California smog certification. VEHICLE CONDITION: This wagon is in exceptional overall condition. The body is straight. The majority of the paint is original and in good condition with a few minor blemishes. The rear passenger door and the passenger front fender have been repainted. The vehicle is smoke-free. Mechanically, the vehicle is in very good condition. The engine runs and idles smoothly, and gives good low-end torque. The transmission engages promptly, shifts well and smoothly, the suspension delivers a smooth and comfortable ride. Mechanical components are in good working condition. The vehicle is leak-free. The undercarriage is in great condition and is rust-free. The rear door and window work perfectly. Air conditioning does not work due to leak; however, all components are in place 2. Small dents in front hood trim 3. Small dent in passenger side lower quarter panel 4. Minor imperfections in wood decals, especially around gas cap door 5. Small dent on tailgate 6. Small dent in rear bumper 7. Peeling paint on tailgate simulated wood trim 8. Surface rust on driver side door bottom 9. Power door locks on driver side work for unlocking, but not for locking 10. Original dashboard is cracked (a dashboard cover is provided) OTHER NOTEWORTHY ITEMS: 1. Tires have approximately 50% tread left, but are 16 years old. 2. The vehicle has only been driven less than 100 miles in the past five years and has not received maintenance in the recent past. Prior to driving long distances, I suggest changing the engine oil and installing new tires. Seller will help in making arrangements for oil change and installation of new tires locally, if desired. 3. A transmission service was performed in 2007, less than 500 miles ago. This included new fluid and filter, a partial overhaul and new seals. 4. The third-row flip-up seats are missing. 5. The vehicle is currently registered in California under Planned Non-Operational status (PNO) and cannot legally be driven on public roads. A one-day DMV moving permit is available. TERMS OF SALE: The seller has described the vehicle to the best of his ability. Buying a vehicle sight unseen can be risky. To relieve the buyer from some of this risk, the seller agrees to refund the buyer’s deposit if in the buyer’s opinion the vehicle is not as represented upon personal inspection. The seller reserves the right to close this auction at any time. A $500 deposit is required within 3 days from end of auction and full payment is to be made within 10 days from end of auction. Payment is to be made by cash in person, PayPal, or bank to bank wire transfer. The buyer is responsible for picking up the vehicle, or to arrange for, and have vehicle picked up within 30 days from end of auction. This vehicle is sold “AS IS” and without a warranty.
